Thanks Byrdlady. To answer your question I just decided that I had enough. The zillion times that I quit beforer now were never serious. Whether I was trying to beat a bloodtest or just take a rest because I was feeling really bad, I always thought that I could come back to brother Alcohol. If you were to listen in to my thoughts you'd hear..."If I can just get a week or two AF I can drink like a normal person" Well that never seemed to work. My only weak advice is that if you are going to be a success at this (and I'm a far cry from that) then you really and truely need to want to stop.

I can also tell you that it has been extremely difficult. Kindling is very real and withdrawal was a real bitch. Lying in bed those first few days with the sweats coming on, waiting for that jolt that would literally sit me straight up in bed (always when I was just about to fall alsleep) really stunk. I say this with trepidation because withdrawal is completely different from one person to the next and I really dont want to discourage anyone from trying, but if this helps someone quitting for the first time to stick with it then great becasue withdrawal gets increasing worse with each attempt at quitting.
