Thanks guys. We are in this together. I made the decision that alcohol had a terrible hold on my life had nearly ruined my life at certain times and I guess I finally realised im through with it I'm done with feeling sad down upset embarrassed scared angry cos of what alcohol has done to me. It's done nothing good for me. Nothing. A false sense of confidence maybe but that doesn't last. It's fake. Like a bad relationship it took me so long to realise what a bad relationship I had with alcohol. I was faithful and loyal to it but it just used and abused me. I deserve better that's why I walked away. I don't need it anymore. I'm learning to like myself more. I don't need alcohol to hide from life anymore I'm facing up to it and mostly it's ok. Especially with no hangover and a clear head.
To keep off booze we must be convinced alcohol is bad and has no redeeming qualities it does nothing for us. We don't need it! We can do this! Together x

Thanks so much for the kudos guys, and to Sue times 2, congrats on getting in your 30 days as well.

To be honest, it does not really seem like 30 days. It seems more like a week, but the changes that I have noticed are nothing short of remarkable. I am still fighting boredom and loneliness to some degree, but my overall outlook is so positive that it all but negates these effects. I have done my best to immerse myself in activities which enrich my life, though I admit that I am still finding out what that means on a daily basis.

One thing I know for certain is that I owe all of you a very big debt that I will never really be able to repay. It would of been impossible to get where I am without the help and support of all of you. As good as it feels to pass this initial milestone, I know that it is only the beginning, and I still have a long road ahead. I feel privileged to be able to share my life and experiences with such a wonderful group of people who welcomed me with open arms even when I was at my absolute lowest. It really means a great deal to me.
