Newbies Nest Roll Call

Thanks Byrd for the hat, need it in Aus land now it is summer and I will wear it with pride. I told my boys today i got a hat and they were like "really" and you are excited for that? I am so excited and proud and i want more. As you know i have failed/slipped/gone off the wagon/left/hid/lurked and failed in my quest for sobriety. Now it is different, now i am embracing sobriety, grabbing it with every bit of strength I have and somedays it is hard but so worth it! When I was getting hugs off my son he said in March 2014 he would be one year off crack but he would always be an addict. I replied with "i will always be an alcoholic", we are both so proud of each other.

I think this time a switch has come on inside of me, I dont want to fight with al anymore, this is my choice and mine alone and NOBODY is going to take my choices away from me anymore. I no I only need to reach out on here and someone will be here to help me, I have never asked for help in my life, I have always been the strong one but now i realise I was never that strong with al but now I am. I am me, love me or leave me. I am starting to love me and that is a great feeling.

I cannot thank everyone enough for your love and support and Byrd its okay that we met on this site, i am glad to have met so many wonderful people that in my al fueled days I would never have met and gotten to know.
