Roll Callers, there is royalty among us this fine day. Our very own Prize Patroler has reached a ground breaking benchmark. 6 MONTHS! In our world, ONE DAY is a huge accomplishment, so this makes you a ROCK STAR!
I will not trivialize this by saying 'I know this hasn't always been easy'. That's just about the dumbest statement a fellow alkie could make. It's NEVER BEEN easy! There are just days that it is not as hard as others....and mercifully, those days become the norm until you are comfortable in what needs to be done. Thank you for all you do! You are active in the Newbie's Nest and I am convinced this is a key to staying sober! You also volunteered to help me award prizes for this roll call. I sincerely thank you for that! I know that you check in here like a looney tune to make sure you don't miss anyone! That is dedication to the mission!
Congratulations on this special day!!! Here's to a lifetime of sobriety! Well done!

A heartfelt thank you for my prize Byrdie and to a everyone for all of the encouragement.
All I can say is did I ever make the best decision to just stop drinking.
No moderating, no trying to control it, just stop and live through it.
No, it wasnt fun, but dealing with the aftermath of drinking was far worse.
And to be honest I know for a fact that I would not have been able to cope had I continued to drink.
It is very clear to me now that I have these six months behind me.
It is also clear that this battle is not over, it may never be trully over and I am okay with it.
Alcohol has lost it's allure and I plan to do my damnest to keep it that way.

Onward & upward folks!
