wow after about 4 years my last visit here,, im back,, and more messed up than before!! still boozing,, my hubby and kids hate me even more,, im so alone i want to die,,, xxxxx been boozing for bout 12 years now,, prev addicted to class a's,, due to me hiding and running away rom my fathers sucide after i finally made courage to tell my mom!!! oohh eeee im a lot of fun init?? xx deep down im lovely, i always am ere for anyone,, i do lots for charity,, yet just canny stop this bloody demon!!! HELP XXXX

sweet - just read your first message and it got to me. I have been hanging here for over 18mos now and still struggling, but this is the best help I have found in my long drinking career. I managed just over 60 days almost a year ago, and trying to gear up for a repeat, this time to keep on going thou. There are lots of great people all with slightly different ways to go about things, so you will for sure find folks who make you feel good.
Well done for coming back, stick around and keep trying. Even thou I have not succeeded, I am very aware when i drink and i drink many less days than I could have imagined 2 years ago, so something is working - I am just taking the really long route!:welcome: and :l.

I'm fighting with my AL problem 2.5 years (as i found MWO) - with up and downs but i don' t give up..i learned a lot and i don' t know where and how i' d be if i didn' t find this site..maybe not alive..
We can' t measure each others sorrow and pain but i undestand that you' re suffering a lot..
But you HAVE husband and kids and concentrate on that not on - what you don' t have..
Stay close to this site, read, read..Prepare for day 1 and start!!! I know i hate Day(s) 1 but we all have to go thrue this Day...

I'm on Day 5.

I agree w scottlass.

I drank for 20 years straight of 1-2 bottles of wine a day, never stopped except for pregnancy and breastfeeding. Never thought I could stop drinking. 1 week ago found this site, started taking l- glutamine and kudzu bought from local vitamin shoppe and I have been able to have 5 AF days I never thought was possible. On days I did drink, I only had 1-2 glasses instead of my usual 1-2 bottles. So welcome back and I'm glad you remembered this site!

I'm in United States. Maybe you can check health food stores or vitamin stores but I would do a web search first. It's not a prescription here in United States. Many people here MwO take it maybe someone in uk would know????

Welcome back Sweet! I have been on this site since the beginning of October. I am officially on my 4th day 1 since joining. I have been struggling with my addiction for about 6 or so years. I did manage to be sober for 30 days a couple years back but other than that I can't get past a couple of days! I hope you find this site as invaluable as we all do. I have never felt support like I feel here! Stay close by, linger, read and post and it really helps to get through those rough days! Good luck to you!!!

Both l- glutamine and kudzu are hard to find in local US stores but easily ordered online, so maybe it'll be the same way in uk
