How long before the pains go away

    Hi There

After heavy drinking for quite some times , years in fact ! and then you stop how long is it before :
    1. The sharp stabbing chest pains go away ?
    2. The constant headaches go away ?
    3. The anxiety reduces ?
    4. The stress go`s away (stress from the guilt of what you do and don`t do whilst on the sauce)
    5. The sore bloated tummy returns to some normality (not knowing what that is)
    6. The joints pains ease

Would be curious on your experience on the above issues and i am sure many other pains related with drinking

hi time,, i agree with pauly,, but everyone is different,,, i suffer from palpitaions and anxiety attacks,, sleepnesnesss, and just downright paranoia,, but it does ease,, i know it does,, been thru detox a few times,,and im gonna go thru it nxt mondat ,, feel free to join me?? but what you can do in meantime, is drink lots of milk,, good for rehydration (better than water), eat good,, even if little and often,, try to do gentle exocise, like maybe a good walk, the freah air is a tonic in itself,, buy some red tea, mixed wiv a bit of honey, mmm , it has a detoxifying and slight sdative rememdy, i always drink it from a bone china cup and saucer, ( cos i just makes you feel posh) and please dont think im a snob,, cos i aint k?? hahaha

also, music,,, music is the food of love,, put on all your fav songs,, and take time to listen to them,,, im a big beleiver in music is a huge ,, healer,, and more importantly,, check in here every day if you can,,, if you wanna pm me,, then do,, im always here for you ,,, you are here,, and that means a lot,,, but equally,, if you need help ,, can u go see your gp? are you in uk??

      big hugs sweetlpis xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

How long before the pains go away

                Hi The Time!!!

I think everybody expierence different symptoms and longetividity of withdrawal due AL amount, age, gender, health, body etc.
As i quit regulary and have a lot of Day(s) 1 yes - Day 1 is crazy - i have muscle spasms, upest stomach and high anxiety, than Day 2 is better - mind becomes calm, physically i start feeling better and on Day 3 i'm ok.

Day 1 i stay in bed, read MWO, everything to distract my mind, drink water a lot (a few times a had crazy vomit, i can' t eat), tea (green or herbal), eat light food (yogurt, fruits, boiled egg with toast etc). In the afternoon i force myself to take a shower, put make up and go out for a short walk. I'm very irritated by people so i don' t go to the centre, just surbub. Yes, and all day i listen to MWO hypnotic subliminal CD, than sleep learning in the night. Some herbal sleeping pills for night.

Day 2. Breakfast, readings, slow yoga with lots of breathing exerc. - allows to release tension and stomach. Start daily routine - houshold (i don't have a job at the moment), go to the beach - try a lot of walking in fresh air (and ocean or sea is very calming) or city etc.
Try to do something nice to yourself - comfort yourself. Normally from Day2 - Day 3 i have normal sleep.

I'm taking supplements (no medication) - Liver detox with Milke thistle and other componenets, Multivitamins with B, Fish oil for brain, herbal sleep pills with Valeriana for sleep.

It' s just what helps me, really, everybody is different.
But i hate so much Day 1..

I'm on Day 7 now and feel well physically. Emotional recovery is a lot of work.

If you don't feel safe to do detox at home - do in a rehab. In Australia paid by Medicare is 5 day detox programme. Nurse told me - if i can do it at home by myself - i of course don' t need it . So, probably from medical point of wiew - in 5 days body more or less is detoxified from AL...but addiction of course is still here..

Probably you should call to some help line and talk. here to go to rehab you have to wait for some weeks.
The time for action is now. It's never too late to do something.

I agree w Audrey. My symptoms were very mild w kudzu and l-glutamine but my hands are still shaky after almost 2 weeks now. I totally agree w Audrey w seeking medical help if symptoms are severe because sever withdrawals are considered medical emergencies.
