Sure hope you are feeling a bit better tonight.
I have had a lot of experience with anxiety & know how crippling it can be.
Work with your Doc, take the meds, see a therapist - do anything you can to get a handle on this.
You are a great guy with a lot of promise - you deserve the best

Sorry I'm late in offering my support to such a wonderful guy!.... I've had so much going on. Just did quick drive buys, but you've been in my thoughts!... :h
I'm so very sorry that your suffering with anxiety & panic attacks!... I too have suffered with these threw the years like many of us have. Drinking to try & control them, until one day it no longer works. There are many ~ many available treatments to help. I see you are already being proactive in doing this. Thank goodness, you reached out here to our wonderful ~ loving ~ caring community at MWO!
You are intelligent, loving & great man!.... I'm hoping your professor at college is a caring one. I love your honesty, courage & integrity. You will succeed one day at a time!... You haven't lost your 8 months friend. No such thing!.... :-)
I'm so very thankful that your slip didn't turn into a run of continued relapses my friend. You have many friends here who care about your well being, keep reaching out here when you have time. Don't forget you have plenty of tools that got you to 8 months of sobriety. You will learn new ones to help with the anxiety ~ panic too. They are manageable. Anything is better than the continued return to the dark abyss of alcohol. Which imo is much harder work, as it's reoccurring, progressive & as you know comes with bag full of shite!.... Look how one negative slip made you feel. Tho, I believe you were self medicating like so many of us have. I sure know the party for the most part was over yrs ago.
If you get a chance & are interested maybe read about the hijacked amygdala it may help to understand. I wanted to reiterate what Lav said, also what Turn wrote about on your other thread. I know nutrition ~ diet & lack of specific amino acids can be huge. This is something I personally need to do more research on. One thing, one day at a time. I mean after all I can future trip, get myself overwhelmed & my head gets wound up. There could also be something medically ~ organically going on too. Hope you get a good blood work up done .
Hope your wknd is going better. Not sure what football games are lined up. Sergeant Major is out burning & knows. Wished you could hold my new baby kitten, if ya like them. Tho, I think ya might like Mr. McGee better he's a big tough boy. Like his Papa. :H. I luv dog's too, but I can't go thru that again. :upset:
You be nice to FD, ya hear me, or will stick ya on K9 & Scottys thread where they are exchanging wardrobe. LMAO :-)
Love, :h

I relapsed!
Thank you everyone!!! I am truly blessed to have all of this support. I immersed myself into work and school all week to keep my mind busy. It worked. I had the most wonderful sleep last night. I let go of beating myself up for a slip and just realize that it will be a life long battle the demon. Let going off over thinking this and stop playing the mental game has given me a certain sense of calm. Some things are easy to tackle in life. AL is one that is quite honestly the hugest bridge and mental game I can get past. It's very doable. It takes slips and it takes hard days to get there. I am WILLING to get there. Thank you all so much for your support!Started living again 2/7/2015
