Hey Jingle- I am just thinking back to last week. I have 8 weeks now and I had a TON of opportunities over the Thanksgiving Holiday to sneak drinks. I resisted, but it was a constant temptation. I feel very strong about resisting drinks these days too, but it was really scary when those temptations would rear their ugly heads. Be Aware!

Due to go clubbing on Friday...

I'm going to Vegas this weekend, biggest sin city in
The country. I have to go because a dear friend's birthday celebration. Do I think I will drink? Yes. I know I will. But I have protection because I already tried out the glut and kudzu which in combination reduce my craving and make me sick after 2 -3 drinks. Of course ill try not to drink. My willpower is very weak though.

So, knowing myself, and plus byrdie wants me to find 200 dollars of her nickles, I must be sober enough to bring them back....

Try those supplements please! They are backup. Defense if you decide to go. You can't hide from life forever, but you can get some help to along the way!

Thanks for your input guys. I've been giving this a lot of thought tonight and I'm still not 100% decided. Head is telling me I really should give it a miss, but the stubborn side of me is still itching to go.

I'm defo going to buy that supplement tomorrow from Holland and Barrett tho regardless and give that a shot.

My biggest challenge over the coming months would be Christmas and New Year, but I am working on Xmas Day and Boxing Day which should hopefully help and me and my other half are heading to a wee remote hotel near the Cairngorms over New Year for a few days, so I'm hoping that will help with the temptation side of things.

Man, this trying to stay sober thing seems to be a full blown mission with a lot of forward planning, but I guess it will easier as time goes on xx

hi jingle,its a tough call on one hand you wanna have fun with your friends but you have a week and a half sobriety youve worked hard for. I drank on thanksgiving telling my family "ive been good i havent drank in 10 days" ive got it undr control NOT! i started off with just one then that just felt annoying,so i drank and drank,now here i am on day 3 again same ugly day 3 feeling,totally not worth it!

if you go, keep a glass of water or soda in your hand at all times...just enjoy yourself and remember that you will remember the night you had being sober and listening to good music and dancing!

Hi Jingle...clubbing in Glasgow? jeez its got a different meaning since I was a kid there!!!grew up many moons ago in Maryhill. Personally I think its a bit early to try and handle it...dead easy to think fk it..Ill stsart again tomorrow..and then it will be well its nearly Chrimbo, and then it'll be a New Years reso..as Rabsy said the al man is a sneaky wee get so be careful

After much thought, I'm thinking I am going to just sell my ticket for the club night (and say that I have been called in to work the next day at short notice as I work a lot of weekends anyway) but still hook up with friends at one of their houses beforehand to at least show face before they head into town. But, I'll drive there and back home again.

Instead, I'm thinking since I'll be home alone (my other half works nightshifts) I'll make myself a nice dinner, pamper myself and give my friend in Oz a phonecall tomorrow night - we are usually on the phone for hours when we get the chance to chat (thank god for free calls with Talk Talk lol).

Sounding like a plan!

Jingle, I think your plan is a wise one and it will be much less stressful for you than trying to resist temptation at the club. You will enjoy yourself more and will not regret your decision and that's a promise!
