    The Journey Within.

Learning HOW to create the life you wish to live starts with spring cleaning. Many of us have held to beliefs that no longer fit. For example, the very idea you are powerless to change your life circumstances is out-dated and does not serve you well. Ideas such as these will undermine the ability to arrange your life in a way that brings you abundance and joy. Consider the beliefs listed below as your newwardrobe. They may not fit quite right in the beginning, but soon they will start to feel more familiar and comfortable.

    1) I am completely responsible for what I have created in my life. What I have created, I can un-create. What I like, I can produce more of.
    2) There are no 'mistakes' as everything works toward my highest good.
    3) I am unlimited in what I can do. I am more powerful than I can fathom.
    4) How I choose to perceive and interpret the events and people in my life is
completely up to me and greatly influences the delicate eco-system in my
mind, and thus similarly influences what happens to me externally.
    5) I am only limited by my self-imposed beliefs.
    Practice makes perfect.
    6) I can shine light into any dark place.
    7) The conflicts and struggles I perceive all around me are actually within
    me.
    8) Every person and event in my life is a gift, a teacher, and an opportunity
    to learn.
    9) Every moment is new and it is my choice as to what it will be.
    10) I can use my imagination and dreams to provide a blueprint for what I
would like to have in my life.
    11) No matter my past, I can be any type of person I wish to be.
    12) The entire universe, from the most distant galaxy to the smallest
particle of matter, obeys my every thought.
    13) Every thought has a reaction in reality. I literally see and live what I
    think.
    14) There are no accidents or coincidences in my life.
    15) Whatever I tell myself is true... becomes so.
    16) Doubt manifests itself by canceling out what I have been trying to
    create.
    17) I am what I think.
    18) I am what I tell myself I am.
    19) Whether I do it consciously or unconsciously, I am continually shaping my
    own reality.
    20) My personal source of power lies within me. Any external status

            When plans go awry

What do you do when nothing has gone as you had planned? Adjust your plans and get going again.

What can be done when problems and interruptions have drained away most of the time in your day? Step back and smile, knowing that you?re wiser and more determined than ever to move forward.

For you?ve just experienced how precious your time can be, and realized how quickly it can slip by. Allow that realization to sharpen your focus, and then aim that focus on where you intend to go.

What?s done is done. You are where you are.

The worst thing you can do is to fret about the time that?s been wasted, for that will only add to the loss. The best thing you can do is to get up and get going again, with a fresh determination to make real progress.

Move beyond the time you?ve lost, and make use of the time you have. You?ll soon be so far ahead that your little setback will quickly be forgotten.

                  How We Change

Lifestyle behavior changes occur in one of two ways: something you do (conscious behavior change) or something done to you (injury, forced change in surroundings, etc.).

Conscious behavior change is a process. It involves specific steps that require time to master. There are new skills to learn like cooking and eating different foods, engaging in new and different physical activities, or even changing sleeping habits. Often, once these skills are learned it takes additional time to integrate them into permanent behavior patterns.

                  Steps To Changing Behavior

One popular model of behavior change proposes five stages everyone experiences when adopting new lifestyle behaviors.

                  1. Precontemplation? In this stage you have no "real" intent on changing behaviors. However, you know something is amiss, but you're not sure what it is or what specifically to do. Often you experience anxiety, discomfort, or problems that bother you. At this stage, change is hypothetical.

                  2. Contemplation? In this stage you "get it." Something is wrong and you want to know what it is, but you're not ready to do anything about it. You engage in self-talk, but you are indecisive at this point.

                  3. Preparation? In this stage you want to do something. You've had it; you're not happy. You gather information by talking to others, seeking information online, or getting a professional diagnosis. You might be scared and sometimes you rehearse what you need to do (think "New Year's Resolution"). At this point you may or not share your decision.

                  4. Action
?Here you go! You dive in and really do something. You become committed and begin to work hard. You join a group, seek professional help, or engage a trusted friend or significant other to help you. This stage may take a long time as you learn and practice new behavior skills. In this stage you are likely to experience the ups and downs of success and failure.

                  5. Maintenance
?During this stage you're locked in. Research suggests that as little as six weeks of success can reinforce behaviors that have real potential of becoming permanent.

                  Skills of Successful Changers

People who study behavior change recognize several skills that successful changers possess. Successful changers maintain a singular focus on success.
They don't engage in self-doubt. They avoid individuals and activities that might sabotage their efforts.

Successful changers show a quality of persistence.
Making changes often means taking two steps forward, one step back. At least the trajectory is in the right direction. Persistence pays off.

Successful changers know and practice change all the time.
Changing means practicing all the time, not just on the weekends. Changing behaviors means being committed for the long haul because we know new behaviors can change lives forever.

                      Fill your world

Be a friend, and you will have a friend. Give, and you receive.

Teach, and you will learn. Offer encouragement, and you?ll be lifted up.

Listen intently, seeking to truly understand, and you will be understood. Be respectful and you?ll be respected.

Life is a mirror that reflects back to you what you think, what you expect, what you feel, and what you do. The way to improve the reflection is to improve what?s being reflected.

Be the love, be the compassion, be the strength, be the responsibility that you wish to see in others. Be the best example you can imagine and you?ll be pleased with how your example is followed.

The way you most sincerely live is magnified by all that is around you. Live true to your highest purpose, and that purpose expands to fill your world.

Conversely, when you hate something you are doing and cannot seem to stop and are full of guilt, the world looks like a very scary and ugly place.

Despite this being a sad day for America and the world, I feel like I can consider recent events clearly and not through my formerly distorted lenses of self-loathing and remorse, which only made everything seem hopeless.

Hey Jenn, I'm alive. I have a lot of things going on with my life right now, so I haven't been around the boards much. I'm, also, having some computer issues I've been milking along for awhile. I hope to get out to buy something this week for improved function or order something online. I did shop once and was overwhelmed by the options, but I'm going to find my computer down completely if I don't get something soon. My tablet blew up just before Christmas and my PC is definitely limping along.

Thanks for asking. I hope all is well in your neck of the woods. I have some private contact with a couple MWO folks, but I really need my focus elsewhere right now.

Well wishes to all in this crazy world we are witnessing these days.:l
