Day One and onward: The Diary of a chronic Aussie Drinker

Given your amazingly positive attitude, Marty, I vote you MWO member LEAST LIKELY TO DRINK BECAUSE OF A TRAUMATIC EVENT.

I am so sorry about your job situation, but if you take the attitude you've shown us into your interviews, you are bound to come out on top and I hope you like your new employment even better than the foolish place that let you go.

I come to your thread when I need some positive reinforcement and you never fail to deliver. You even put in a smile when you shared your bad news with us. Amazing outlook!

Thank you for the joy and hope you give your readers. Good luck with the job search!

Evening Gang! Day 46 booze free!

How is everyone in this wonderful evening! I had a great day as I don’t have a job LOL!

Still going strong and applied of jobs, got some good interviews coming up. Will be different to do my first interview sober as normally I would down 6 beers before an interview. With the 6 beers I still scored high profile well-paying jobs imagine what I can achieve when I am sober!

A note to everyone to stay strong and kick arse!

        I will not give in!
        Cheers,
        Marty

          Day 47 – Booze Free!

Evening gang, day 47 booze free! Spent the day looking for work but I am getting a good payout from my old job so I am in no hurry.

I am just back from my smart recovery group and it was fantastic. One thing I learnt tonight was to acknowledge your craving. An example a 3 year old wants attention – ignore them and they will keep getting louder and louder until you pay them some attention.

Much like your cravings. Acknowledge them, except them for what they are, by doing this they will go away!

          How is everyone else going?

          I will always stay strong!
          Cheers,
          Marty!

            Day 48 – booze free!

Evening gang just checking in on my 48th sober day! Who would have thought I would last this long? Well I did as I was 100% committed before I started.

I have said it over and over again quitting is as easy as you allow it to be.

Get prepared and quitting is simple! I am sure you read this and have doubt but I tell you it is easy!
Train your mind and the body will follow!

Take care all my loved ones!
            I will always stay strong!
            Cheers,
            Marty

Martye, a note of congratulations. I, too, read your post for encouragement. Best wishes for the job search. You are wise to make certain you take the right one and not jump at the first offer. Keep posting!
