You are so right...it is a whole new way of being. I have done it before and have no clue why I went back to drinking. I want to be where you are 100+ days and then some, and then some more. I know that I am going to face challenges and temptations along the way. I know better this time....not to get cocky, not to stop counting my days, and to stick close to MWO. This may sound a little ridiculous....but my dog and I start our intermediate obedience class today. One of the things our instructor had us do in the basic class was to start out by sharing our highs for the week and the lows for the week, this of course was meant in terms of training. We have the same instructor for this level and I am sure she will have us do this same exercise...during the last class many people struggled to find a high for the week but could ramble on and on about the lows. This always frustrated me as well as the instructor. I always tried to focus on the good things that my dog had done....not dwell on the bad because by focusing on the bad you can't move forward.
My point for this whole ramble is that I think if we applied this basic exercise to our everyday life and tried to find one positive thing for the day no matter what maybe we would all find a little more joy, let go of the bad and move forward in our lessons."Sometimes the strongest people are the ones who love beyond all faults, cry behind closed doors and fight battles that nobody knows about".
