Thinking about how to get through tomorrow and have decided to take only my lunch money to work so I CAN'T stop for Al on the way home. That way when the 3pm voices start and the ongoing argument in my head of "gym v al" begins again, the possibility of Al will already be off the table
Anyways, that's tomorrow and I know I only need to focus on today but Monday has been my downfall for too long now... Not any more though, voices I am ready for you!

I'm early in my endeavor to be AF and before I got sick I found that exercise and eating a good meal helped me replace the booze. I'm always reflecting on things I can do to stay busy and it really isn't as much of a mental workout as I figured it would be since all I ever previously thought about was how to drink.
Good luck. You are not alone in the early quit.

Day 5
So, Day 5.
Not so good, not bad either, just everything was a bit sort of meh. I've still not managed a decent nights sleep and my early eve appointment prior to yoga got cancelled, leaving me at a loose end and we all know how they usually end up... BUT I did not drink! It was a close one though. I'm off to bed now, fingers crossed I will sleep, and stay asleep.
Thanks so much too for all the messages of support, it means so much, especially from the other newbies who are struggling/have struggled too. They probably saved me today. Good luck everyone and keep fighting.

Days 6 & 7...
Well I made it through day 6 yesterday although I couldn't get to a laptop to log in. A good day though, no voices, feeling OK... AND
I made it to Day 7 too!!
Oh but it's been tough today, I really thought I was going to cave in, the voices were so persistent this afternoon. I marched myself straight to the gym though and it was a struggle because I'm still so beyond tired but I don't care because I did not drink!!
Phew, but it was close. Really, really close. Going to bed now, got to be up at 5.30am for a really important conference for work tomorrow. Can you believe that I actually thought for a fleeting moment that drinking the night before that would somehow be 'All right' :H
So relieved, I live to fight another day and it's all thanks to this board.

RED RIDING HOOD,
You can do this. If I can get 3 days AF after drinking a fifth of gin a day I know you can do it.
It is not easy ,fun or comfortable but it is worth it. I can honestly say I am feeling better after three days. Keep your eye on one day at a time right now. if you can do one day at a time 30 days will come..
Hang in there...

Day 10
So I got through day 9 OK and am now onto day 10. No cravings at all but still being hyper vigilant. Sleep is still very hit and miss, usually miss, waking up every three hours or so, lots of bad dreams, drinking dreams etc but it's getting better, well it was better last night. Went for a long walk in the snow today so hopefully I'll get a good nights sleep tonight.
Keep going everyone!
