    BYRDY ,YOU ARE A STAR

    Correct me if I'm wrong but today (or v ,v soon)Brydy is 2 years alcohol free.So may I be the first of many to say

    WELL DONE, YOU BEAUTIFUL,WONDERFUL ,AMAZING ,KIND,GENEROUS WISE,WOMAN
    You have been a tower of strength ,compassion and common sense to so many here and sometimes I feel you really dont get or understand the huge positive influence you have on us all.So from the bottom of my heart ,thank you for your kindness ,your compassion for others and best of all, your no nonsense common sense.Without you I would not be a non drinker today,at times when I felt like drinking I would come on here ,come across your words of wisdom and say to myself,"cop your self on Patrick,what would Byrdy think"
    So today let us celebrate a genuine lady,a person who gives of herself on a daily basis,and seems to spend every day caring for others.I know you lost your wonderful father recently Byrdy ,but I know he is looking down on you and your work here proudly thinking "Thats MY girl":thanks::thanks::thanks::thanks::thanks:

        Dear Brydy,

        Congratulations on your 2 years of Freedom!!

        You don't know me, I don't post that often but I ALWAYS read your posts ( and Lavande's) and I can't tell you how much you have helped me in my desire to become AF; your suggestions, thoughts and deeds have inspired me to reach the point I am at now which is... sober. It has taken me a long time to internalise the thinking and hard work that is needed to become free and I have failed and flailed so many times ( see my start date). I truly want to thank you for support and humility even through the trying times of your Dad's death ( mine died a few months ago so i understand that loss).

        Thank you for indirectly ( even directly) showing me that Alcohol abuse just gets worse once it has started and that by giving it the boot enables us to be Free, Fun and Funky!!!

            What can I say, where can I start. Patrick said it all so eloquently.

            There are so many of us that owe you so much, you are amazingly kind, endlessly patient, carefully honest. And a very nice person that I am proud to know.

              A learned habit surely be unlearned !!

              2012: Continuous AF for 7 months from May to Oct.

              Big Relapses : 6th November and 12th December 2012.

              2013 : So many ups and down !!

              2014: Has a conviction to stay with a healthy life.

                  Byrdie, you were one of the first in the Nest to welcome me and encourage me. I don't know if I would have had the resolve to even start this journey without your kind words. "Thank You" seems so inadequate. Congratulations on your 2 years being AF!!
                  Well it's all right now. I've learned my lesson well. You see you can't please everyone, so you've got to please yourself.

Like Patrick and the others have said, you are helping to save many lives here with your caring, generous, and witty words of wisdom. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all you do for me.
