Thank you. I just can't seem to stop drinking. Its a bad habit as soon as I get home from work its the first thing I do. I usually start at 4 and drink continually toll 8 or 9 consuming a good 8 or 9 beers. Sometimes I go all the way to 11 or 12. Then I really get crazyangry and so sick the next day I'm totally hungover. I don't know how I function at work sometimes. I eat a ton of food for the hangover and then by the time works over even though I tell myself I won't drink I end up drinking again. Its horrible and I can't sxtand how I feel every day

I could have written that myself Cathy...I was drinking 12+ beers every night and still dragging myself to work everyday. Looking back, I don't know how I made it so long doing that. Sometimes at work I'd feel like I was gonna pass out, or throw up...or both. I'd SWEAR I was going to stop...but by 3pm I'd be feeling better and figuring out which liquor store to stop at on the way home. It's insanity. I was finally able to break free...400 days ago today...and you can too. Stick close and let us help you!

Congratulatons on 400 days! That's wonderful! Thank u for listening. I don't know somedays how I do it honestly and I'm scared at the thought of the day I can't do it. I have already missed work sick because of the hangovers so bad. I have a wonderful husband of whom Ipick him to be my punching bag when I've went over 8 beers and my brain snaps and does weird things. I don't really know how he puts up with me sometimes. I'm afraid though I will lose him one day when I keep getting worse. I decided after last nights nightmare. I have to end this addiction to alcohol. Its not fun anymore its a poison

Sounds like you're ready to get alcohol completely out of your life. The first step is to get it out of your house...don't have ANY available. Next you need to make a plan for tonight. Maybe you can go somewhere to pass the time...a movie, the library, shopping, anywhere that drinking is not allowed. Get through the first 3-4 days and it will get MUCH easier!

Welcome Cathy: many of us have through he same thing... I'm glad you are here.... Spend time here and get some support. When I first got here I spent 24 hours on MWO typing away on my Iphone non stop and I needed hands to do that, therefore couldn't get anything to drink!!! It's a great outlet and I've found great friends here... Stay close and you will find a lot of great info on how others have been able to stop drinking. Some of us need a little more help than just willpower. For me, I needed some supplements. Others using meds. Others just need support or exercise or diet. Look around the different threads... Ask questions.... Keep posting! I'll check back w u later!

Thank you all so much for your support. I really appreciate and need it. I also need to throw the 12 pack away when I get home and try not to panic about it. I thought maybe a movie with my daughter or start a walking program. I need to do something to fill my 4:00 to whenever happy hours

Hi Cathy- Good girl for planning to get rid of the 12 pack. Just dump it. I believe it may have been K9 who said "The beers gonna get flushed down the drain anyway so you might as well save your liver the trouble of processing it". Your liver will thank you!

Cathy - If seeing and smelling the beer go down the drain is too much for you, just throw the cans out full. Do whatever it takes to protect YOU, even if it seems wasteful. You CAN do this!

A movie with your daughter sounds like a great idea! My daughter got lots of nights out when I was changing my habits!
