I want to thank you all very much. First plan when I get home from work is pitch the beer. I dot really like anything else but love my beer. Its 1:30pm and I still have headache from last night and also have the munchies bad. I felt so horrible this morning I actually googled How to quit drinking. And found this site along with many others. I believe god pointed me in this directio. And found my way out and all of my new friends I feel better and stronger already. Thank you. I can do this

Cathy- Please make sure you aren't hungry when you get home. I think a lot of times, the beer served as a quick fix for my low blood sugar. It will be more difficult to dump the beer if you are hungry. You won't be thinking clearly. If possible, stop and get something to eat on the way home. If you are full, you won't want to drink.
Also, don't worry about tomorrow yet, hon. Just one day at a time!

Thank you your so right. Many times I get home from work and even though I manage to cook a dect dinner for my family. I'm never hungry and many times don't eat or order up a pizza 9 10 oclocl in the night then pass out of course with a huge glass of ice water next to me when I wake up thirsty every night

Well here's what I used to do. I would ALWAYS be doing SOMETHING to take care of my family and wouldn't let myself sit down and actually eat anything, but could do all my work for them perfectly fine, with a beer in my hand. Crazy! I would start supper early, just so I could start drinking early because I couldn't cook unless I was drinking my beer. Things got worse from there.
Just make a plan to cover all your bases, Cathy and stick to it- no madda what, no madda who!
                          Good luck! (and EAT )

I would cook dinners. A lot of things in the oven like meatloaf or stuffed peppers or baked chicken etc. Something that would be in the oven cooking while I could not be bothered for an hour drinking and be able to get everyone fed. Except myself

Sometimes I purposely don't eat so I won't get full on food and can't drink. How pathetic is that

Well, this is worse- I wouldn't eat so my stomach would be empty and I would feel drunk quicker!
