Cathy,
I'm SO sorry you're struggling :l Believe me, I KNOW how damn hard this is. I am single so I never had to justify it to anyone, which is hard in it's own way. My disappointment in myself was finally enough to make me quit. I know you want to stop...I could see it in your posts this week. You KNOW it's what you need to do...now you just need to do it. And really, so what if it's hard for a few days? Once they're over, you'll never have to go through it again (as long as you don't drink). Get rid of the alcohol you have left...you'll be glad you did in the morning. A craving is just a thought, it does not control your actions, and it will never last as long as a hangover. I guarantee you won't wake up tomorrow morning wishing you'd drank MORE tonight!
:h:h:h
Stay strong!
K9:heart:I love my daughter more than alcohol:heart:
Believe in yourself. You are stronger than you think.

Amen K9.
Cathy I was just reading over some of your first posts in this thread. I too called in sick to work because of hangovers so many times. I too lost it and went berserk on people when drunk. Some of my rages are just momentary flashes in my memory because I was half-blacked out. So awful. And now it's over. And now it will never happen again for me. Just a year ago I was in your shoes. This is not impossible for you. You can do this. We are all here to help and to hold you up when you need it. :l

And Amen to Fly!
Cathy - I felt an immediate connection to you because you remind me of how I used to be. I LOVED my beer, but the beer did not love me back. The beer made me a raging bitch, took my money, my looks, my pride, and made me do stupid a$$ sh*t!! WHY would we love anybody or anything that did that to us? Because it gives us a "buzz"? So freakin what...that is hardly a fair trade!!!
I too smoked 1 cigarette per beer. Gawd the smell was horrible. My daughter always told me I stank (gee thanks..right?). She was RIGHT...I did stink. I felt bad, I looked bad and I hated what I was doing.
YOU can stop too. I have been sober 402 days. I quit smoking 19 days ago (previously 81 days, then relapsed). YOU CAN DO IT TOO...I just KNOW you can.
Please at least promise to start over tomorrow. You only fail when you quit trying to quit. As long as you never give up, you're still in the game.
Good luck Cathy, I am thinking of you! :h:heart:I love my daughter more than alcohol:heart:
Believe in yourself. You are stronger than you think.

You have to establish a new normal. What will your Friday nights look like from now on? Will it be a family night? Will it be a fitness night? Will it be a night you reconnect with your DH? Set a plan and know in advance what you're going to be doing. If it's dinner out with your husband, make a reservation the night before. Set it in stone and change up your routine.
