Mike! I'd like to invite you over to the Newbie's Nest, too. Link below....when you get there, I urge you to read back a couple weeks to get to know us. A couple days ago, I posts the 4 stages of Alcoholism...it's an eye opener. Since we know that ALK is a progressive disease, it is not uncommon for us to say, "at least I still have my job, or I haven't gotten a DWI". But the case can also be made if I had quit when I was a Stage 1 instead of a solid Stage 3, I could have saved myself, my husband and many others a LOT of pain. Please come join us, we can help!! Smart recovery
Hey Southampton Mike,
I don't want anyone to think living in Southampton drives people to drink - it's a great place!
I hope to try Smart Recovery tomorrow if I can get myself together sufficiently to actually do something positive for myself. So if I do make it there I will report back and you can see if it might be for you...

Hi SW
Same for you, try EDP if you can, phone number in Dorset is 01202 482 908 and they'll put you onto a Hampshire number.
Nothing wrong with Southampton, been there loads of times, great place! It's not what you drink, it's how much!

southampton mike;1460160 wrote: thankyou for your reply! its a very hard pill to swallow though. I wonder if, after an extended period of not drinking, say 4/5 months I could try and drink in moderation again. if that didnt work then I suppose i'd have to admit defeat..
days will probably not allow you to wanna ever touch alcohol.
I don't allow myself to think far ahead because that pressure
is overwhelming. I focus on the person I wanna be. Alcohol has
no place in the new me. It makes it easier to focus without Al.Its for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm then and DO NOT let yourself be burdened again by a yoke of slavery. Gal 5:1
