Hope it Helps
Dark days are calling out for light. First time post, I am hoping to make a drastic lifestyle change for the sake of my family and my life. Nothing worthwhile is ever easy I hear. I'm scared, of change, of never having a glass of wine with dinner again, does it really have to be all or nothing? For me I guess those are the only two choices. I wish I had the ability to be a normal consumer, but unfortunately there are times I can't stop after two drinks, after 4, after 6, and I never know when those days are.......I am hoping to find some relatable stories, and positive messages on the site. Here is to day one , Feb 12, 2013

HI Halo!!!
You can find what your looking for here and if not, then ask and you'll get an awnser or at least be pointed In the right direction to find one for yourself
Being noremal isint all its cracked up to be. It often lacks in many areas including common sense! Lol being normal just means being one of the masses...and the masses do some pretty stupid things when you think about it. If being able to consume a poisonous substance makes you " normal " is that something to aspire to?
Do your reaserch on the effects of AL, the mental physical and emotional effects it has on the body and on peoples lives. Step back and have an objective look around you. You may be surpeized and even a little annoyed by how mislead you've been by society and subsiquently yourself.
If you want the "dark days" to end, your off to a great start that's for sure, stay focused on the positive, the satisfaction of beating an obstacle and of getting closer to the life you want.
One foot in front of the onther one day at a time. Congrats on day 1

Hi and welcome. You are asking all the questions I asked when I first quit! You can follow my journey in a thread tittled something like the diary of a chronic aussie drinker.
If you cant moderate then there is only one way forward. Stop all together.
What you need to trust me on is that things DO get better, much better in fact!If drinking is interfering with your work, you're probably a heavy drinker. If work is interfering with your drinking, you're probably an alcoholic.
