So let me tell you about my day.
1) Woke up with a cold. But had a nice lie in and the hub brought me my coffee in bed with a kiss and a 'Happy Birthday' (:shocked
2) Met a friend in the town I used to live in and had a nice lunch which she paid for.
3) Went out and got in the car to go home and it wouldn't start. Luckily my friend hadn't gone yet so we tried to jump start it - no joy.
4) All manner of calls to the insurance company, roadside assistance, and the husband and a tow company that would have left me left me stranded for 2-3 hours. So I canceled that tow and called a number on my own. That guy showed up in 20 minutes and got me over to the dealership.
5) Husband picked me up a the dealership (all this is happening about an hour's drive from our house). He was pissy.
6) I did some googling and found out that I probably need a new steering column at the tune of at least $1600, more likely closer to $2000.
7) A fight about the bills on the way home (sigh - what else is new?)
At least I had a nice lunch. Happy Birthday to me...
I'm going to try to make the best of the rest of my birthday. I may need a birthday mulligan.
On the plus side, I may get a new car.
