Well the best thing about this site is that nobody judges you - they just support - you know that saying if you fall I will be there well they are, the thing is we hide things (booze) so that if we need to we have something to fall back on and still try and act like life just goes on - well you know as I do that it does not it becomes blurred and slow and some times fumbles - you will find that if you do have a bad moment instead of saying "I cant handle this so I will take control and have a sip" you get on-line and these people help you take your mind of the sip, they help you cope with the issue at hand instead of putting it off until after that sip - which in my case would become the bottle - I had to have a huge hiding place because the cheerios would never hide my stash. hubby saw the box come in, never saw the emptys - but the funny thing is the glass was always full.

So welcome and there is nothing to hide here - if we haven't done it we would have in time and some fo us have done more.

i didn't drink last night. My friends were playing cards, and I knew I would drink maybe moderate at 2 but I doubt it so I just didn't go. Now i do love to play cards, but it has become the wine i want not the strategy and fun. i guess I have to step away from it. My mo is drink one day not drink the next, I want to stay af for a while just to get a grip. thanks for the sweet welcomes and again glad to have found this place. r

What kind of cards do you play? My son is a poker player and I am an old fashioned old lady bridge player. We always argue over which game involves the most strategy. I love bridge, but it is getting harder and harder to find players these days.

I play pitch, there is strategy, not like bridge i would imagine, i think poker has alot of chance involved. Well i am home at the wine hour and am having a cup of tension tamer tea. I will make it through tonight am exhausted hubby away on a writing retreat, got the kids, had a smoke considered the glass of wine but alas none in the house because i finish the whole bottle once it crosses the threshold. r

I played pitch in my youth. I don't really remember how it goes, but I do remember that I enjoyed it. Strategy games are beyond my ken now. Currently we enjoy hearts and poker. I hope you have/had a pleasant evening.
