    My 30 day plan

    Well Done

    Well Done Free

Looking forward to hearing your positive post tomorrow - and guess what - once you get to 30 days you get a great hat from Starfish1 and Byrdlady! I am so proud of mine - it goes well with the new hairstyle I treated myself to for my 30 days!

I really feel your determination, so stick with it and you will be there in no time - you have so much encouragement and support behind you - as we all do - that you really can't fail!

      My 30 day plan

Off to walk the dog, make dinner, and then back to work from the apartment. No time today to even think about wanting wine. Drank copious amounts of soda water with lime, eating as well as I can (with the occasional piece of dark chocolate), and focusing on how great I will feel in the morning. Thanks to all for your great encouragement.

        My 30 day plan

Start of Day 4. Making progress. Last night my DH commented that I hadn't had any wine the past couple of nights. Finally told him of my goal to link 30 consecutive days/nights without drinking. That led to a discussion of when my drinking first became a problem (15 years ago); what contributed to it (increased work responsibilities, being on the road, lack of exercise, family health); and how alcohol did absolutely nothing for him -- no buzz, no endorphines, no warm feeling. How I wished that were the case for me, but it is not.

Woke up grateful to have had this conversation, to have three days sober, and to have a supportive community in MWO. Thanks!

            My 30 day plan

Start of Day 5 AF for me. Loved that I woke up feeling JOYFUL! Walked the dog with a spring in my step.

Lots of errands today so that will keep me busy. Dinner out tonight, but I have a plan (DH will order sparkling water for the table and no wine for him). On a plane Saturday evening and most of Sunday -- will post when I can. Find this blog is helping me stay accountable-- to myself!

            Thanks for your encouragement.

              My 30 day plan

Free.....good to hear you are feeling so good. Really is rewarding to be AF. Good plan for tonight. Nice that your hubby is so supportive. That really helps.
Sounds like you have a long trip this weekend. Since you travel so much, have you adjusted to having frequent time zone changes? I remember my first trip to NZ and the 13 hour difference really knocked me down for about 4 days.....felt like I was operating in a fog! Next few trips I got a handle on how to quickly adjust and it was fine.

                    My 30 day plan

Start of Day 6 AF. Dinner last night was a temptation but DH ordered sparkling water brought to the table immediately. Made myself drink the entire bottle of sparkling water and a glass of still water before I "allowed" myself to entertain any thoughts of a glass of wine. By that time, I was so full, I couldn't think of drinking anything more. Whatever it takes.

Off for an international flight today. Will post from the club, when the free wine may become a temptation.

New Day, I usually have a 5 or 6 hour time difference. It takes me about 3 days to get adjusted at my work location. I sleep for 12 hours straight when I get home and then seem to be on the right time zone. Funny, I would never consider taking a sleeping pill -- too potentially addictive! But, I would drink a bottle of wine to "help me get to sleep." How crazy is that?

K9 Lover, who is the cig quit coming along?

Best wishes to everyone to stay strong over the weekend.

K9, that should read "how is the cig quit....." not who. Must be dyslexic this morning.

                          My 30 day plan

                          Dear NS,
I am already anticipating that there will be a bottle of wine in my hotel, since I am returning to same city. If so, my plan is to dump it down the drain. Can't thank you enough for your great advice and support at a time when I needed it. I am finding that posting is really helping me stay motivated.

I read your post about those who are farther along on the path to sobriety and finding a way to encourage each other after the initial AF weeks. Especially liked the post, I think it was by Fallen Angel, about being in between, in the middle. Please do know your words of encouragement are so very much appreciated.
