    My 30 day plan

Checking in. Still early in the day but I have a plan to be AF tonight. Linking those days together.

      My 30 day plan

Love waking up from an AF night. Clear head, clear memory of the night before.

Decided to stop counting days -- I think it was messing with my head and making things more of an obsession than a way of life.

        My 30 day plan

Well I am back to day 1. Allowed myself to get upset about a work situation and drank wine last night. The journal is keeping me honest and motivated. I know that alcohol is poison for me, that I am better leaving this love/hate relationship for good. And will start again keeping track of AF days.

Day 2 -- woke up feeling rested and now ready for a full Saturday. Will check in tonight after the difficult period to report progress.

            My 30 day plan

Happy to report another AF day/night. Went for 3 hour walk in the woods with my DH and dog, visited with a friend (declined a glass of wine with her) and dinner out. Start traveling tomorrow night.

Have a great Sunday, free! Three hour walk in the woods sounds heavenly.

                My 30 day plan

It was. My DH and I had a good talk about how hard I have been trying these past six weeks, how much I have been able to cut back, what I have learned about myself, and my plan for going forward. Very productive walk and talk -- and the dog ran like a wild dog through the woods!

                  My 30 day plan

Day 3 in my goal to link as many consecutive AF days together as I can. Now at the airport lounge--it is getting easier to go up to the bar and ask for a soda water with lime, which I just did. Two months ago, I would not have considered such an option. Two more "no thank you" responses -- during the meal service on the upcoming flight and I am through this day AF.

Thanks to all for your support.

                    My 30 day plan

Just arrived in a new country for me. Hotel room is not ready so I am sipping coffee and catching up. Happy to say, I said "no thanks" to the free champagne, and "no thanks" to the nice red wines. Woke up refreshed and ready to navigate a new city, different language, and customs. Onward!

                          My 30 day plan

New city, with business lunch, afternoon meetings, and business dinner. No temptation whatsoever to have wine tonight. Want to add that I am grateful the hotel-mini bar does not keep wine in the fridge. Now if they would get rid of the M&Ms and Pringles, I would be in better shape!

Five consecutive days for me. I am thinking when I hit 15 consecutive days, I'll start posting in the Newbie's nest roll call.

Sounds like you're doing really well, Free! How nice to not even have to have the fight with stupid old temptation!

Are you in Africa on this trip? I just saw the most inspiring film about a former Olympic Speed skater who has spent the last almost 20 years working with kids in some African countries and other nations where kids don't have the benefits of sports and play: Right to Play | Mountainfilm in Telluride

Talk to you later, NS :h

What!?! Heck no. You earn a post in roll call after day one. Seriously be loud and proud of your five days because its hard work. Plus at seven days you get a mooning butt smiley apparently. (:
