    My 30 day plan

Congrats NS on successful completion of your work trip and 90 DAYS -- yahoo. Tomorrow is three months, yes? You go girl.

Thanks BHOG, Halo, and Jenniech, I don't by any means think I have this thing licked. I have alcohol desires every day, but making myself hit the gym, eat, and meditate in the pool are helping. One more day of work tomorrow then two 6+ hours flights with a couple of hours in airports and I am home sweet home. Happy to report another AF day and night.

Awesome Free, you sound so positive and great. Bet you can't wait to get home for some R and R! Halfway Content has been MIA for awhile, just wanted to give positive vibes out to the former 311 gang! Once again so proud of you Free, like No Sugar said in a recent post, true success will come from being honest with yourself and your posts, when I read that, I thought of you...You slipped during the 311 gang, and then came back with more determination than ever! Have a great AF day! :h

        My 30 day plan

One of the best parts of being AF is being hangover free!! I attended a concert last night (I'm a concert junkie and have been to about 50). For the first time ever in my life, I went and did not drink AND I had a great time! For the first time ever I woke up after attending a concert without a hangover!!! That is one of the many parts of being AF, I am really being able to appreciate....

Traveling hungover is the worst too, wouldn't you say Free? Keep chalking up those AF days!

          My 30 day plan

Thanks, Halo, for the support. Yes, flying AF is so much better on my health, mental well being, and recovery time from the jetlag.

Reorting in from another airport lounge -- one more 6+ hour flight and I am home for six days. So ready to see my DH and the wonder dog.

Shared on the No Fooling thread that yesterday (day 20 for me) was tough, but I managed. All the way to the airport, I had thoughts of how great it would be to kick back and have a glass (or 2,3,4) of champagne or wine in the lounge and on the plane. Even had thoughts of "well, there is a five hour time difference so those hours don't constitute day 20 or day 21. You could drink only during the five hours from midnight work time to five am, and then you could still say you were AF on day 20 and if you didn't drink after 5am work time, you would still be AF on day 21." How twisted is that? Realized my AL-deprived brain was using any pathetic logic it could muster to get me to feed the beast.

Managed to get the first "no thanks" out when the flight attendant came around and several more after that. Am now drinking as much seltzer water as I can so there is no room in my stomach to even think about a glass of wine (or 2.3,4) on the next flight.

Happy to report 20 consecutive AF days/nights and am on to day 21.

          Thanks, all, for your encouragement.

Free, THIS is priceless! Are we masters of really clever rationalization, or what? All credit to you for not falling for this ploy!

The commitment to truthful posting kept me from drinking, nothing else. But, hey, it works and I am grateful.

Great post in the nest for suggestions for achieving sobriety. Loved it.

Plane boarding -- have had so much SW&L that I can't consume anything else for the time being.

              Cheers.

                My 30 day plan

Quick report that I am now on 22 consecutive AF days/nights. We had houseguests who arrived last night with wine, which I served to them, but did not drink. A big first accomlishment for me. Have a plan for this evening and the remainder for their visit. Thanks to all for your encouragement. Free

I know what you mean No Sugar, I am finding out how many firsts I am going through, in regards to doing activities for the first time sober, I am hoping it gets easier as I go along, because some times it's really hard...toasting for events without alcohol, I have found irritates people who say it's bad luck, just have a bit of wine/champagne for god's sake , what is your response to that comment No sugar?

                      Halo,

I was a total whuss (is that how it is spelled?). Anyway, it was really pushed on me one night so I pretended to participate - brought it up to my mouth, tipped it slightly -- just a bit less than the whole 9 yards. It happened again a couple nights later at a reception but b/c we were moving around, it was possible for me not to have a glass right there and I just raised my glass of fizzy water. To heck with them if that is bad luck for the toastee! It would be a disaster for us, right?

We're just gonna have to get used to this, Halo. We live in societies in which AL is culturally entrenched.

Happy sober weekend to all! :h NS

Did not realise I'd been mentioned at the start of this thread, I don't feel I contribute very much to this section but glad I'm helping somehow and well done on 24 days.
I used the Sinclair Method to beat my alcoholic drinking.

Drank within safe limits for almost 2 years

Actually, UKblonde, I found your posts from several years ago extremely helpful to me as I was working my way toward sobriety.

Thanks, NS, finally a few days at home before getting back out on the road again.

Happy to report Sunday was AF for me.
