Day 2 for the 311 Gang

What a great idea. Had a good night, slept well, and no regrets in the morning. Up at 6am to walk the dog. Plan for the evening is exercise during my difficult period of 5-7pm
    Dashing off for meetings.

Day 2 for the 311 Gang

Day Two begins. I feel scattered. My dreams were all about failure-I messed up at work, gave the wrong test, forgot about my mom's doctor appointment. Woke up with the reality that it is time to focus on an AF me. Day Two begins.

Best to the group today! Siren, love the Ernest Hemingway quote. I am actually rereading For Whom the Bell Tolls currently.

Day 2 for the 311 Gang

          Hi everyone!

Great job, Free! No dog walking for me - raining here. What kind of dog do you have? I have 2 GSDs and a Rottweiler.

Halfway - I know the feeling. I had strange dreams for the first few nights of my last quit. They don't last forever. And the scattered feeling - truly annoying! Just slow down, take deep breaths, and plod through. This, too, shall pass. The clarity on the other side is very refreshing. I can't wait for days 6 and 7. Not perfect, but so worth going through this to get there.

          Keep strong team!

Day 2 for the 311 Gang

I am hitting some bumps this noon hour. No drinking, eating well, but boy am I in a fog. Thank God this is Spring Break and I am not working. Hopefully, by next Monday I will be coherent.

My house is full of alcohol, my life is surround by social drinkers. Wednesday night, Thursday night, Friday night all involve events that I am expected to attend. My plan is to drink sparkling water with lemon.
You will probably get sick of my posts but posting is sure helping me. It only took me two years to get up the nerve to quit drinking and to join MWO Thank you.

To all, hope your day is going well.

Day 2 for the 311 Gang

I didn't get much sleep last night to be honest. I'm feeling a bit weary. But yes, no hang-over is very nice for a change.

I have a plan to keep me busy after work and before dinner and then after dinner and before bed - to keep me off the couch, which is where I like to do my drinking. "Stay off the couch!" is turning into my motto :H

                    Clean the litterbox
                    clean the bird room
                    put laundry away
                    empty the dishwasher
get all my shoes and clothes off the floor/furniture all through the house and put them away
re-organize all my spices and cookbooks
                    change my sheets and blanket
                    re-organize the pantry
vacuum all the dog hair off my floor

I hope I don't get them all done tonight or I'll have to come up with something different for tomorrow!
Well it's all right now. I've learned my lesson well. You see you can't please everyone, so you've got to please yourself.

Day 2 for the 311 Gang

Halfway, can you politely decline this weekend? Feign a stomach bug? If you do go, make sure you are completely stuffed full of food - it does help with the urges. Eat before going even if you are going out to dinner.

I hear you about the fog. Have you taken any B vitamins today? Thinking of which - I haven't taken my supps yet! eeep!! Better go do that now.

Day 2 for the 311 Gang

I like your list, siren. I am laughing a bit because I took on the task of matching socks!! There must be 99 in the laundry basket- can't have an even number of socks when trying to match them, now can we.

Day 2 for the 311 Gang

No, I really can't get out of any of the events. I did put the word out that I am doing a 30 day cleanse for health reasons. Hopefully, they won't ask too many questions. I told my friends that I am getting ready for my high school reunion this summer, which is true. Sort of, kind of...

Day 2 for the 311 Gang

                            Siren,
Add "rearrange living room furniture" to your list. Move some lamps around too. That way your drinking "spot" looks completely different. That's what I had to do. I just could NOT sit in my old corner of the couch without a beer, so I changed everything up. My brain liked that and finally got the message: "We don't drink here anymore!" LOL

                            Halfway,
Use whatever reason or excuse you need to not to drink. It's really nobody's business anyway. I found that people don't really care what you or I are doing, as long as they have their drink in hand...

Stay strong, you CAN do this!!!
:heart:I love my daughter more than alcohol:heart:

Day 2 for the 311 Gang

Thank you very much, K9lover. I hope one day to be where you are today- helping others see that this can be done.

My story involves interventions for my older sister and then ultimately holding her hand as she passed away from cirrhosis. Ironically, it was after she died that I fell into depression and turned to alcohol. My 30 days (and beyond) falls on her birthday. Thanks again for your support. Staying strong is what I will do!
