Agree, with changing your name, B. I think we have a tendency to manifest what we put out there. Look forward to seeing what your new "name" will be.

I, too, have another big trip coming up-- 13 days on the road. Not as bad as your four weeks, but I do know about the omnipresent alcohol at work events. Try to read and post when we can -- we are pulling for you.

Boozer - where will you be going in Asia?

The drinking culture can be pretty tough in Asia. Take care and stay strong

I have always wanted to go to Angkor Wat. Will you be able to visit?

Day 3 for the 311 gang

I made it through the first social event today, and now I am heading out to a dinner. I usually pour a drink while changing clothes and freshening the make up, but I will just have to find a new routine. The symptoms are strange today, though. Prickly stabs in weird places, headache and I am longing for bed in the worst way. Four more hours and that is where I will be!

Day 3 for the 311 gang

Is it Day 3 already? You know how confused I get over what Day I'm on! I'm here - not even a thought of having a drink. Nap sounds really good - had a midnight phone call and difficulty getting back to sleep. Glad to see our little BIG group growing.
10/14/13: I am truly grateful for another day in this amazing life. I'm sober and mindful of every moment.

Hang in there Halfway -- you can do this. Drink lots of water before and during your dinner.

Strong -- glad to hear that you are doing well.

                  We're rocking!

Halfway, That drink or bottle of wine whilst you get changed to go out is a killer. I have done it many times. Good luck with the change in routine.

Day 3 for the 311 gang

I made it! I had my water, everyone else had wine. Boy, could I smell that wine and it looked so pretty in the glass. But I drank my water and listened to the band, and it was just as fun.

Hope everyone's night is going well! Thanks for the support, this (a forum) is all new to me but I guess there is no right or wrong to it. All I know that tomorrow is Day Four for me and that is incredible.

Day 4. I'd change my mood to "content" - but it is not an option. Satisfied? Basically, doing OK. Going to go out for a walk while it is still light. I'm going to post the same thing in Day 4 - seems like there is more activity over there!!!!!:l
