Day 7 for the 311 Gang

Morning all, start of Day 7 here in this airport lounge. Made it through yesterday's flight. Now have one more flight, check into the hotel, meet colleagues for "drinks" which is really work, and call it a day. My new traveling companion is soda water with lime/lemon. That's my plan for when I need to meet work colleagues soon after arrival.

Best wishes to everyone for a sober Sunday. Stay strong!

Day 7 for the 311 Gang

Morning. Had a good day yesterday. Went to a Buddy Guy concert with the wife last night. Was able to stay AF. Didn't even really think about it. Feeling good this morning. Remember the whole show, didn't make an ass out of myself and was able to drive home.
Starting to right out my plan, ordered the book, looking into the medication options. Going to hit this thing with all the tools in the tool box this time.
Hope everyone has a great day.

Day 7 for the 311 Gang

Hi all! Free you beat me to it - I had a lazy lie in this morning as I try to do every Sunday morning. It's the only day I get to do it. Glad to hear your travel plans to stay AF are going well.

All in - I'm so glad you had a good experience at the concert. I'm also considering getting some meds as I don't really feel like white knuckling it anymore. We'll see.

Congrats to the 311 gang on 7 AF days in a row. Don't forget to report to Star for your award.
Well it's all right now. I've learned my lesson well. You see you can't please everyone, so you've got to please yourself.

Day 7 for the 311 Gang

Morning. Day Seven begins. Last night was really, really hard at the dinner. Being surrounded by glasses of wine, bottles of Guiness and tumblers of martinis was an unbelievable test for me. I came so close to sipping out of one of those drinks while no one was looking. But I didn't, and here I lie in bed feeling proud
but willing myself to face the next challenge. Depressed, a bit. Gotta turn that around somehow.

Enjoy your Sunday, everyone. Thanks for your continued care and support. Welcome, all in, best to you.

Day 7 for the 311 Gang

Man, how cool is this, you guys have your own club! You all are killin it......IMO reaching 7 days is a HUGE HUGE milestone, you are all proving you have the resolve to stay AF.

Each day you continue to stay AF gets you a little closer to it getting "easier"

So, for each and every member of your club, here is the collective 7 day Nelz star....well done to one and all.

Look at that a Nelz Star, Byrdie's moons and I reckon a JC Happy Dance wouldn't go amiss.

                  Well done everyone.
It could be worse, I could be filing.

Wow - I don't trust that I could have done that. You are amazing! Surprised that you are depressed - are you feeling you were deprived? Deprived of a pounding hangover? Drinking makes me depressed. guaranteed. Keep up the awesome job!
10/14/13: I am truly grateful for another day in this amazing life. I'm sober and mindful of every moment.

Thanks, Strong and in Contol. I feel better now. Think I was depressed when I woke with the reality of how hard this is going to be. But no cravings today! Also in the back of my mind is Day Eight. Three years ago I quit for eight days, then fell hard. Let's hope that history does not repeat itself in this situation.
