    I heard this favorite song in my head . . . .

I play this song a lot in an R&B band. It came naturally to mind as I read through posts. Just thinking about love, hearing this song makes my cry sometimes. I never thought I'd be thinking about it in the self-love sense.

    Earth, Wind & Fire:

    "Reasons

    The reasons that we hear

The reasons that we fear our feelings won't disappear

. . . . after the love games have been played

all the illusions were just a parade

    and all our reasons start to fade . . . . "

I am very thankful for all of you.

I even think I remember the melody - haven't thought of that song in years. I am thankful for you too and for all of us. Thanks for putting a nice song in my head before I go to sleep.

Rest in Peace, Bear. We miss you.

Rebel, thanks for the "blast from the past"! I danced to this song many times in my freshman & sophomore years of college back in the mid 70's ... I know, I'm showing my age. Fortunately I was only slightly inebriated while dancing in those days.

Believe it or not, I actually have the album that this song appears on ("That's the Way of the World" by Earth Wind and Fire). Let me know if you want to borrow it. Depending on your age, you may not know what an album is ... it's a round black thing about 12 inches in diameter that you play on a thing called a phonograph. lol

You musicians are deep thinkers. Thanks for the thought.

experience in love perfered or will accept a young trainee
I think another line is lipstick on his collar perfume on it too.
I think its called 'Read it in the want ads'??

Don't know what I was dreaming about last night

          Hey, Mar -

I must say I've never heard that song, but I used to sit and drink and go through want ads. I ended up unintentionally contacting a guy I broke up with years ago (there were no pictures, of course). He was really mad it was me (hee!), but in all honesty, I had no idea it was him. This is just the kind of thing that really bothers me about my behavior on hard liquor - it just seems to do nothing but get me into trouble.

          That sounds like a cool song, though . . . .:H

          Take care,

            Words from a song

The day before starting this program I was sitting watching DVD's in the morning, having cancelled the day's meetings!!!. Blind hangover and absolutely incapable of doing anything but veg. Ended up watching The Sound of Music! I'd forgotten one of the songs, which when I was a kid I just loved and felt strongly about. It goes......

            Climb every mountain
            Follow every stream
            Follow every rainbow
            Till you find your dream

It triggered strong and good old feelings and kicked me right up the a!@?? and on my way to MWO.

Tunes and their words are a strong thing that lasts.

                  I heard this favorite song in my head . . . .

One of my favorite songs I enjoy biking to is by Jo Dee Messina, I think it's called "My Life", or "Ride around the Sun"

I can't run this race believing I might loose
                  Still so much to see
And so much left to do
Yes I'll fall before I fly
But no one can say I never tried

                  We just get one
                  Ride around the sun
                  in this dream of time
                  It goes so fast
                  One day we look back
                  And we ask
                  Was that my life

I close my eyes & think how lucky I have been
To hold the ones I love & share my dreams with them
All those sunny days & all those starry skies
Good morning kisses & sweet goodnights
Oh I can't tell them enough
Just how much that they are loved

Oh you just get one ride around the sun...

And of course anything by Bonnie Raiit, is great! Another favorite is "Forever Young", Rod Stewart's version is great!
The only thing worth stealing is a kiss...:flower: zwink:
