    drinking Alone

i am the queen of drinking alone. i will not answer the door, i will not pick up the phone, and dammit if you are a family member that happens to have a key to my house, yours better be burned to the ground if your standing in mine. i also begin to think that noone sees the world like i do, people are not worth my time, im better because i understand things that others dont....any of this sound familar?

this is the only time i have ever actually told anyone this. i think i just lost 20 pounds.

Yup, I can relate to this 100%! I actually lost a good friend over this because she had the feeling that I would only call her when drunk which unfortunately was true... My best friend the morning after was the redial button to figure out who was the last one I'd spoken to since I couldn't remember a thing. I'm hoping that my phone bill will go down in conjunction with the liquor store bill (AF for 10 days!). I feel so relieved to know I'm not the only one prone to CWP (Calling When Drunk). Thank you!

can definitely relate to all that's been posted - funny thing was my mum said to me (when I told her all about this place & my plans) that she could always tell when I had been drinking over the phone as my voice changed.........stupid me, I had MANY, MANY conversations with friends, family, anyone who rang & thought I sounded perfectly normal and no one would be any the wiser.

            drinking Alone

I like drinking alone, in fact I don't like drinking in front of other. Again it boils down to the point I don't want anyone seeing how much I drink.

And yes I'm a phone pest too. I end up calling people I promised myself I have nothing to do with...and then regret it.

Yep - me too - I preferred to drink alone / at home too!
Could give it my full attention that way!
              No phone pest tho'
Would listen to music - watch TV or TRY to read!

D - I can so relate to the waking up on the sofa at 3am with the TV on!

I dont miss that rubbish either - especially knowinig at 3am as you stumble up to bed that you only have 4 hours or so before you gotta get up for work again!!

I KNOW all about that NATTIE! I dont think anyone knows that I'm drunk...Lets forget about the fact that I can sit and talk to you for hours when I normally wouldnt talk to you for 3 seconds...but "nooooooo, I havent been drinking at all"

What a joke. its hard to hear that you were fooling no one. I just hope that I can keep up this good work so I dont go back to fooling myself anymore.

I preferred drinking alone as I knew exactly how much booze was in the bottle and that all of it was mine. Rudemama

Too true Rudemamma...........on "good" evenings when me & the bloke only had 2 bottles of wine I would keep my hawk eye on it to make sure I got my full quota & he didn't drink faster than me !
Mush better that he wasn't there....!!

since were all being honest, I may as well throw this out there.....On nights when the BF works late i would drink a 6 pack or more ( i use past tense cause I really hope its all in the past) and then buy more and keep it in the fridge and only drink 2 or 3 so when he got home he would only think I drank 2 or 3 out of the pack....

                        Sad huh.

                            cke,
I used to drink a bottle of vodka then go and buy another one, drink some of that then hide the rest. Then I'd half fill the empty one with water and put that on display for my wife to see. I thought I was so clever....

Ha ha ha, I used to pour myself a large one into a mug, my thinking being that they would think it was tea/coffee if it wasn't in a glass!! Duh...
Rather die standing, than live on my knees, begging Please..... No More.......

Popeye.....I love your count down...or should that be up? How did you do it??

I too have done the get plenty inside me & then only consume 2 infront of BF.....MANY questions as to how strange I can "handle" my alcohol sometimes but others be pis*ed after 2 drinks. Until I found this pace I stil thought I was clever getting away with it.

What a great feeling we no longer have to drink out of our hand bags/cupboards etc.

                                xx
