    drinking Alone

    Hi CKE

Yes know where your coming from. Its because you don't want to be told you have a had enough, just to please other people so you hide you drinks and then it becomes a game, to hide it, and to get away with it. But do you know when you start doing that you hurt yourself and the people you love.

      drinking Alone

Ha! LMAO because I saw myself in soooo many of the posts in this thread. :H

I can throw a doozey of a party (for one) drinking alone. I play loud music, dance around the house, watch concert DVDs & make a real mess in the kitchen cooking…. It's an absolute blast! Then, when I’m totally plowed, I get on the internet & make a complete fool out of myself, wake up the next day feeling AND looking like death warmed over and suffer all day long for the previous evening’s few hours of fun…. Ugh… I just can’t do this anymore…. It’s NOT worth it.

I relate to all these posts ...

... so what do we do instead of drinking alone? Seriously what do we do -- there is a reason that we choose to drink alone -- what is the alternative? LaLiz

This is an EXCELLENT question. I was super tempted to throw myself another party last night because I was bored. Somehow, I managed not to party and just watched a couple of movies instead. I did enjoy the evening, although not in the “full-throttle” way I’m used to had I been drunk. This morning I am soooooo thankful that I didn’t drink yesterday. Ultimately, I think the answer for me is to re-learn how to live and enjoy life… without getting loaded. Of course, this is far easier said than done.

          What say all of you?

            drinking Alone

Oh yeah, drinking alone was the way for me... unless I'm with one of a couple friends who drink as I do. I hate talking on the phone, but for awhile I would write and send long emails... then wake up the next morning terrified of what I wrote to who.

The difficult part of breaking a habit of being drunk alone is that fact that no one will critisize or complain or throw you out of the pub/bar if you happen to get real drunk.
but drinking alone is a real danger, that is how I've develped such a high tolerance to wine. 5 to 6 glasses on an empty stomach for someone who is 5'2 and weighs 110 lbs.

My best friend told me about 3 weeks ago that I shouldn't call her anymore when I am really drunk. She said she would hang up on me.:upset:
My solution to stop drinking alone is to keep no alcohol in the house. let's see how this will work out.
