Hi Siren, glad you are staying connected to MWO during the difficult times. I just finished five intense days in another country with meetings that went from 6:30 to 10pm. Am in the airport lounge and really want to kick back with a drink but made myself get online, read and post. I just keep telling myself how good I feel in the am when I abstain in the pm. Wishing everyone a relaxing, AF weekend.

Will have to check out the tool box for some tips...I do know one thing without the MWO there is no way I would be able to be AF as long as I have been thus far, being able to post daily as well as being accountable for clocking AF days (the 311 gang and now this thread) have been great. Hope everyone is doing well................
You are going great - just going over a slight speed bump, but the road will soon be smooth again on the other side. Stay with us :lNever put off to tomorrow what you can achieve today!

free and siren wishing you both the best, I know that it is difficult coping with stressful times and depressing times siren, remember each day is a new day, keep on checking in we are here for you!
free I don't know how you keep up with your work schedule, you keep me motivated in staying AF, if you are able to with how much traveling you do, I most certainly can do my best as well.
Went out for dinner tonight with friends, was worried as I have been feeling stressed lately, well someone must have been looking out for me because we went to a great new place that had an interesting drink section on their menu titled "Prohibition" (very clever) that had a wide selection of interesting AF drinks I was sooooo happy, tried a ginger citrus beer and a raspberry limeade, beautiful garnishes and all. Every restaurant should have such selection for AF drinks, I'm getting a bit bored with the same sparkling or water day in and out...
Survived another day, tried the breathing technique too Snapdragon, good advice
Till tomorrow tremendous triple A members :lOn a mission, and the only option is success. My family and I deserve a better life, an AF life.:h

Thanks, Halo, for your kind words. I am exercising my "mental muscles" in saying no a lot. But, I don't have to address alcohol in the house issues as several MWO members must do -- that would be exceptionally hard for me. Happy to report I survived the business flight with no AL consumed. On a plane tomorrow but will deal with that, tomorrow.
Best wishes to everyone for an AF weekend. Stay strong and keep posting!Free at Last

keep those mental muscles working free, you are doing great...I have gotten rid of Al in m house there is nothing to tempt me, however I am testing myself by going out again tonight... I have been so reclusive the last month, this is where the determination and will power must kick in..
I will say it definitely helps having a supportive spouse and when one's spouse is so happy that you are trying to live a AF life it reinforces why this is the best choice.
Hope everyone is doing well, it's nice being around others who understand what you are going through
I have heard comments from some people who say, just have a couple of drinks, or just stop after a few..it's not a big deal..Well for some of us there is no stopping and guess what, it actually is A VERY BIG DEAL. Let's get through April AF and them I am on to finding a new thread to post ever day because it is really helping :hOn a mission, and the only option is success. Hi all,
I'm glad everyone is doing so well and sounding so good! The weather has been beautiful here this weekend. I may take the puppies for a walk in the woods later. Take care!Well it's all right now. I've learned my lesson well. You see you can't please everyone, so you've got to please yourself.

Starting a new Monday. I am usually more concerned about getting through the weekends AF but now I'm more concerned about making it through the week because work is so stressful at the moment. I normally absolutely love my job however it would be so nice to just tell people to bugger off (but with more forceful language):durn: , Here's some advice, if you don't like your job just leave, stop making the work environment terrible for the rest of us who actually want to be here!!!
I just keeping in my mind:ignore,ignore,ignore....
Hoping for a good weekOn a mission, and the only option is success. My family and I deserve a better life, an AF life.:h

We're halfway there! Had a li'l tummy bug yesterday; glad the nausea could not be attributed to AL. I'm oddly disturbed by the Hippyman/EvieLou debacle. I didn't "know" Hippyman, but enjoyed his upbeat, optimistic posts (now not even sure he's a he; some controversy). Whoever is posting under his moniker, doesn't seem to be that person. Will the real Hippyman please stand up (dating myself)? How did EvieLou get his password? A mystery.Friedabee is "free to be!"

I was just thinking about this but in sort of the opposite way --- I'm a little bummed that some things I thought were AL-related (e.g. forgetfulness) might just be ME :H:H:H !
I must say, though, waking up with a headache that I figure is due to ALlergies not ALcohol is such a relief with no guilt attached. I don't even really mind those headaches .
Who knows what the Hippyman/Evie situation is. At first it alarmed me because it is just the type of weird thing I was afraid about it terms of joining an online forum. I am glad that I have met several wonderful people who I KNOW are REAL -- this situation is the exception, not the rule. I hope this debacle doesn't frighten off any very new people who just maybe could find their way out if they stick with us.
Have a great day! NS

Hi All! Happy 15!
It's been a busy day and a busy weekend. We finally saw the sun in Germany and it was GREAT! It was nice to be outside for a bit this weekend. Now back to work to prepare for my next project. I will try to check in as much as I can even though this is a stressful time work-wise.
Today I should feel good about day 15 but I honestly feel "blah". I've been eating a lot lately to combat the cravings. Luckily I've mostly kept to healthy high-protein foods, fruits and veggies. But the sugar is so tempting. I had a spoon of peanut butter yesterday and was in HEAVEN. I do want to make it a personal goal to try to stay on the straight and narrow with regards to this process... healthy insides all around.
Gotta run... wish I could stay here longer. Much love and strength to everyone! :hWould you like you, if you met you?

Or, you could make your own in a food processor. My favorite is almond butter.
Have a good day! :h NS
