No fooling -- April 2013 AF

Piper, I'll shoot Notts' question to you, too. Do you have supplements to help you with cravings?

Also, do you have a sobriety plan in place? What are your triggers? Why don't you spend some time reading through the toolbox to help with planning a successful quit for yourself?
Well it's all right now. I've learned my lesson well. You see you can't please everyone, so you've got to please yourself.

No fooling -- April 2013 AF

Hi, just found this forum and wonder if I am posting in the right section. I have been AF for 100 days today BUT this is not my first, second or even 5th attempt to stay sober. I am feeling OK, very much staying focused on day to day stuff. I had a family lunch to go to over Easter and normally would bring a couple of bottles of wine as you do, not to drink, just as a present. I changed this a bit this time, I didn't bother as I felt that being around the offie and looking at bottles and inhaling that particular smell that you get in these shops might just send me back. So I brought lemonade. Go me.

Hi All... I'm also up for an AF April. Yesterday was Day 1 for me... today is Day 2 and it's almost 6pm here in Germany and no craving in sight! I'm determined this time. My longest accumulation of days has only been 9 so I really want to make 30. So happy to be here with you all!!! :l
Would you like you, if you met you?

            Hi Cloonkeen :welcome: and :goodjob:

You are more than welcome to share your sage advice with those of us going for an AF (alcohol free) April. There are other forums for those of you with longer AF time under your belts that you may want to check out, too. There is one for 100 or more days AF and there is an Abstinence sub-forum, too. Not that you're not welcome here, but I've seen long termers struggle with things about being AF for so long that I can't understand and advise on.

So I guess what I'm saying is keep checking in wherever you feel the most comfortable and where've supports you the most. And again, :welcome:

cloonkeen wow 100 days how impressive is that.

mein I'm on day Three I can't say the same for the cravings. I'm feeling agitated beyond belief. Just looked in the mirror and I looked a scary Mary. Even the other half just commented and he wouldn't notice if I was pole dancing nude in the lounge!

              Siren how are the shakes?

                Hi, Notts

Are you hungry? Eating til you are full usually helps. All the best to you, NS

I went to bed by 8 pm for the first ~ 2 weeks -- I was SO cold and tired. Now I stay up reading so late sometimes, I can hardly recognize myself :H (still in bed under warm covers but at least not passed out!!). You will be so glad you did this, even if the first bit is a big struggle. Stay strong!! :h NS

I agree- those first few days are the hardest. I was so tired, agitated and felt jittery- I hated the feeling. Finally around the 4th-5th day AF it started to lift. When I think about that first week, I don't want another "first week".

                      We can do this!

Cloonkeen- congrats on 100 days!!!! That is awesome. Can't wait til I can say that.
                      AF since 3/12/13.

Completed over a year AF and fell off the wagon.
Back to it, new day 1= 7/1/14

                      I'm on my way.

                            Now my lovely new friends!
I have been bestowed a new iPad from dear hubby. I think he must be after something not sure what!!!

Bit of a daft question but I would like to add a few smilies to my messages but seem just to get the text rather than the smilie if you get the gist.
                            Thank you in advance

Hi, the iPad smilies don't show up in these fields - you have to use the MWO smilies to the right of the field, unfortunately!
