Thank you so much for your comments and support This is a difficult time for me. But I think I am OK. I have my own support from inside myself which can be weak at times. You are all so wonderful, You give me the support from outside which I need and love - in times where I may be weak internally.

i too worry my kids will end up alcoholics.. My father was alcoholic. my brother got cleaned u using AA and is 20 years sober.My other siblings drink but as yet not crazily (i dont think..ibit we know it can be hidden well)
My hubbys parents wre alcoholics...though i didnt realise at the time...both died in their mid 50s from heart disease attribute to be caused from too much booze.!!My brother in law is alcoholic..OH YES I HAVE AWHOLE FAMILY OF ALCOHOL ABUSERS...hence this first serious attempt to cut back from me.

i did do 30 days AF 2 years ago !!

As a mom i appreciate your concern re gentics..but dont beat yourself up..what about all the other influences you have passed to your son.....try and have a balanced perspective on it. i know its awful at present because of his drink driving...maybe that will scare him enough not to repeat it.

Personally I have never driven with even one drink on board... II only need 3 large drinks to be sloshed at the best of times.We use taxis everywhere as they are as cheap as a bottle of plonk!!

hope it all works out for you and your son...live in hope and for me "nothing is impossible with the lord" has to be my mantra...could it be yours?
