Are you talking about the stuff they sell in the supermarkets? 'Cos while they can market it as 'soft drink', it still has some alcohol content (.5% IIRC). Not enough to get a buzz of course, but then, why would you bother drinking it?

Were it me, in the early days as we are, I'd be staying away from anything even remotely resembling booze, no matter how 'light' it is. But then, I'm a big, wussy, girlie-coward and don't wanna take ANY risks at the moment. Your mileage might vary as the old saying goes. :H

Thanks Kambob, I understand what you are saying. My first night out tonight in 10 days af. Have been avoiding Social activities. I can't avoid this one and have to confront it sooner or later! Have tried the true af beer in the past. It has no alcohol at all, not even O.O5% like most of them. Good Luck.Just keep on trying and the w/ewill be over.....af. :goodjob:

Funny how a 6-pack of AF beer lasts about a month in my refrigerator. Wish I could have some Miller Lite, cheaper, lighter in calories tastes great... I get Becks AF, works for me every now and then.

Thanks Balboa, Haven't seen that in OZ but we do have BITBURGER. Its a German beer and OK. Not the best beer I have had, but we don't have a great choice of Non af beers in this country. I did take some with me last night to a dinner and it was great. Didn't have any cravings for the real stuff and genrerally had a good night. Worked for me, but I know there are lots of people who don't trust themselves even when its zero al content. Good Luck with your quit!!!

            Hi HADIT

Just thought I'd throw in my 2 cents-
There was a time when I tried the N/A beer, and the best one here (to me) was Bucklers-made by Heineken. BUT I believe you are on AB correct?

Now I would not drink it for several reasons. One is that there is a bit of alcohol in it, and I don't want any of that shit in my system, and two-I don't need to drink it to "fit in". I make no bones about my situation if anyone asks. Actually I am proud of myself for taking on the problem and dealing with it.

Of course usually no one asks. This week with my work colleagues it was clear that I wasn't drinking so I went my merry way alone which is fine with me.

I think there is a benefit to not attaching social situations to drinking. By that I mean just because you go out with people you don't have to sort of "pretend" to be drinking with N/A beer. Ordering Perriere or Sam Pellegrino is fine with me. I am not uncomfortable at all being the only one not slamming poison down my throat
