    7 MONTHS OF SOBRIETY BLOWN

Welcome ijosie -- you are in a great community here. There are two AF June threads and we'd love to have join us there -- the accountability helps.

Unwasted, you are sounding great. I am in Japan for two days of meetings and then back to W Africa for a few days. Back in the USA next week, finally!

      7 MONTHS OF SOBRIETY BLOWN

Josie - wow, 22 years. How fantastic. Well, you should be able to get back to it with all that sober time. Alcohol is an absolute bitch, isn't it? Well, we're here to overcome, so please post whenever you need to chat, work through something - whatever. Maybe you can give us some tips since you had such an amazing stretch of sobriety.

And, just in case you don't know, there is an AA thread here where people with some pretty long-term sobriety post. Mary, Doggygirl, Phil, and I'm not sure who else, but it's a great thread. I read it regularly. Doggygirl just celebrated 5 years, and I know others there have several years.

      Here's a link:

Hope everyone has a wonderful AF day!

OH, hi NS, just read your post when I started to submit mine. You have the same request of Josie that I do!!! Glad to see you.:l

Hi FAL - x post - tell us about Japan!!

      xx,

Agree with NoSugar, I could learn from your experiences 1Josie. My goal is two consecutive months AF and then onward -- can definitely learn from someone who achieved 22 years.

Hi Josie and :welcome: from me. As the others have said, I'd be fascinated with your story if and when you're willing to share. I really can't imagine 22 years. I think I made 15 from birth! Look forward to getting to know you

Thanks, Unwasted. Did you notice Freefly also has a quote from Rumi?

When I eventually stop traveling for work I am taking myself on a hiking/Rumi poetry retreat!

Hey Free, picked up your post on the other thread with the 'mutual Rumi appreciation society'! So, are you going to add an avatar to go with it? Can I come on the hiking trip :H

I don't have a clue how to do avatars -- advice?

I've been wondering if there was a way to organize a hiking for health retreat, not centered on alcohol but health and nutrition-- there are some great retreat centers on the East Coast of USA (Kripalu.org). We could all sign up for the same weekend and then see if we "found" each other!

                    FF, that's hilarious - I only made it 14:H

FAL, actually thanks for pointing it out.

                    Here you go guys.

FAL, go to User CP (top left of screen), then click edit avatar. Pick from the choices. Or if you want to try using Photobucket I'd have to figure out how to walk you through that one - I can do it but it would be a fairly lengthy explanation. Happy to, tho, just let me know. Or you can upload from your computer. Just go down the instructions under Edit Avatar and see if they make sense. If not, PM me, and I'll help you out.

                    xx,
                    UN

Wow, thanks!. I and I thought that photo of the really fat guy and the women chewing gum were the people who were writing! You have opened up a whole world to me of possibilities.

Un -- agree on the Rumi. If I wasn't scared of bodily pain, I'd think of having it tatooed somewhere on me.

Can't remember the fat guy and the chewing gum women's name, but they post on the general discussion. Don't tell them I thought they had posted pictures of themselves!

Yeah, it is Juja, but she may have changed her avatar. Now if I could remember the fat guy avatar. He's quite insightful and funny (or maybe I was laughing at the photo). Oh well, made me smile today.
