    New user 33, Binger :(

Hi I am new to this site but have joined as I would like to stop my binge drinking. I don't drink ever y day and can go a while without any alcohol, but when I do drink I binge and drink a bottle of wine to myself, I alot hide my drinking from my partner, he knows I drink but not how much so I sneak in extra drink while I am in the kitchen. I have come to the conclusion that it would be easier to not drink at all reather than moderate. Any feed back or advice would be appreciated thanks.

      HI 33 female

      Welcome to MWO!

I agree that moderation is a waste of energy. It just drains you really. NEVER worked for me and many of the people here.

This is a great place for support.

      Please stick around

        Hi, 33Female.

You've already figured out the key thing: BE DONE WITH ALCOHOL FOREVER. Moderating is just too dang hard and the success rate is negligible.

A great home base at the beginning is the Newbies Nest (link below). There are people there at all stages of this process who are eager to help you and to receive encouragement from you. We also have a Toolbox that includes so many ideas, odds are that some of them will work for you.

This battle is so worth winning, 33 - I'm glad you want to join us. Hope to see you over in the Newbies Nest.

          Welcome 33F!

I could not agree more, it's easier to not start drinking than to stop! Moderating for me was laughable. I spent all day obsessing over it, then all night counting...until I got to the point where the AL made me not care, and I'd go get more....and moderation out the door! It's was a slow, painful torture. Being AL is much more freeing!

Join us in the Nest! We'd love to get to know you!
