Two weeks ago I didnt think I had a problem

:h Its close to two weeks for me. I am stoked and feeling great. Craving are still present but with L-glutamine it seems to help. Notice a difference when I don't take it. I have been in reflection a lot on how much I lived in denial. As the fog of alcohol consumption has lifted I see how much I justified my usage and was in denial of how much I was drinking. I did try the whole moderation (several times)... such a silly attempt to keep myself justifying my addiction. Alcohol was my crutch.. one I used to numb my feeling and disappointments in life.

My neighbors had a party today... social bbq, wine ect galore party. For a bit it was hard for me to be around it... but then I watched everyone getting drunk and it felt good to not be one of them. I was proud of myself.. I could have easily had a few and I chose to stay sober. woot woot!

    Two weeks here I come.

Congratulations on two weeks Justyo. Seeing others drunk and then seeing them the next day hungover can be very motivating IMO.

In the early days it REALLY helped to try to remind myself that NORMAL people do not NEED alcohol. It is purely a social construct NOT a part of adulthood like puberty.

Society teaches us it is 'normal' to drink......it is a lie. Being drug free is normal, anything else is a damage to our body, no matter how little the quantity.

Well done justyo, It does get easier. I have had similar experiences in the last couple of weeks. Been sober 18 days now! What I do find is the more often you can come into contact with alcohol and say NO to a drink, the quicker and more strong your resolve becomes. Its a very important part of the healing process. Just keep going now! You are almost at 14 days!:goodjob::goodjob:

Goodmorning BCP, You really seem on top of it all. I love my camping and outdoors stuff, but in recent times al has destroyed it all!! I want that life back. Al just wants to take our life from us and if given the chance he will kill. Its so glamourtised; I recently went to a super market and couldn't help noticing a huge and expensive billboard depicting a young couple celebrating their engagement with bottles of Champagne followed up by very seductive pictures of glasses of whiskey and ice. That could have been me years ago! I hate al.
