My first relapse after 17 days last year was with non alcohol beer. Iam a little scared to try it even though i have thought about it. I had it one time at Taco Mac well into a few weeks of abstinence. I choose not to mess with anything that could potentially jeopardize my sobriety.

Jenni, I have friends who are not alcoholic and who drink N alcoholic beer when they don't want the buzz or need a clear head or are driving. I drink it now and enjoy the taste without the Hangover and problems al causes me. I am aware though some alkies would be very nervous about drinking non al beer as they might be tempted to try the real stuff. I guess it depends on the indiviual. For me, it hasn't been a problem,in fact its helped in my sobriety. On a Friday night after work which is the worst time for me I crack open a bottle of Non al beer. My wife has her wine,she is a normal drinker. If we go out I just take some with me. I must say though the liquor stores have very little to choose from. Not sure if this answers your question!

Jenni, non al beer doesn't work for me. I drank it during my 7 mo AF stint but found it kept my head in the alcohol realm. Somehow a negative like my brain thinking alcohol was a positive thing. I personally don't want the mixed signal. Oh, and it does contain a very small amount of alcohol.

Sometimes a craving will hit, and for me it just really helps out, I dont feel so "deprived"

Love my NA beer but it kills me how you can get reel beer cheaper. Wish I could stop with 1 or 2.

I wish they made NA Irish cream or kaluha or wine lol. I have never been able to drink beer but having it NA might make it easier for some people.

They do make AF wine.
Personally, I would not go near it though. That was my drink of choice and when I crave AL, I am really just craving white wine so I won't go near AF wine.
I have always been able to resist beer so AF beer works for me on special occasions.

NA wine is vile and should be banned anyway (oops posted too soon there) its horrid stuff, bit like vegetarian bacon (and I like quorn etc) just wrong!

I've found I have had to work hard to change my tastes to stay AF but just my view :H
