    June free from AL

At the airport here in Japan, sipping my SW*L(emon) drink. Lots of folks are imbibing with sake, wine, and hard alcohol -- no temptation whatever today. Thank goodness.

Happy to report another AF day for me. It is getting easier!

                Way to go everyone!

I made it through Day 4 and feel like it was a miracle. I had a stressful day at the office but honestly, I was so excited about making it to Day 5 that the slight thought I did have disapeared quickly. I do have an issue with wine and cooking and I was tired when I got home so rather than chance it, we ordered take-out. I just hope I don't gain weight....I am hoping that the calories that I am not consuming by drinking a bottle plus in the evenings will balance it out.

Looking forward to a good nights sleep and waking up to Day 5 without a hangover and the guilt/remorse associated with it!

Good job Miley!!! I know what you mean about the calories. I too am hoping they will even out!!! I just ate supper, which I am not that used to doing, and feel totally full and want to lay down. On to day 4 for me - have a great day 5 AF tomorrow!!!!

forget about calories for now. If you truly want to be sober, that will come with time. Take out is definitely the way to go....I had the same problem. Cooking after working all day...in the kitchen by myself. Just me and my bottle....I was drunk before dinner was ready! And, obviously, not very good at conversation. Now we eat a lot of take out (you can eat healthy with take out you know!!) and I have wonderful conversations with my family.

I want to lose weight, but I want to not drink more.

Kdog: 1 week = staying sober each and every day of the week and that is HUGE!

                      :moon:

A moon is your reward for remaining AF for an entire week!! Now you can set your sights on two moons!!!

And I apologize for the confusion over the multiple June threads....I guess there are a lot of us that want to enjoy June without hangovers!!! Better too many June threads than none at all.....don't you think?

Good Job June people. I like these month by month steps, don't you?

I have been really noticing that when I have a thought about AL I seem to be actually hungry. So, I have my self on a feeding schedule. Just about to the minute since the last time I fed 4 hours previously, I get a thought about creepy AL.

Jenniech, I agree, am willing to answer the call to my food cravings and avoid those AL cravings at all costs! If that means I have extra dessert, so be it!!! You will hear some MWO members who have lost alot of weight giving up AL, for me so far in my two and a half month quit, haven't gained, haven't lost weight but am clearheaded and sober...and that is the biggest win for me!!
On a mission, and the only option is success. My family and I deserve a better life, an AF life.:h

                            Jen-

You are right...I am not too worried about the weight because a bottle and a half of wine every night is a massive amount of calories, not to mention all of the crap I ate to get over a hangover. I did get a chuckle from your post because I would be cooking, radio going, bottle of wine and sometimes the next day I could't remember eating dinner the night before. I am a good cook....what a freakin waste of effort!
