Congrats on progress everyone. Forgot to mention yesterday that I had a "little" car accident (no one hurt, except my check book since I had to pay damages). Good news is I had a fleeting thought about going home and having some wine to unwind. Instead, I doubled up on the seltzer water and took a nap. Starting to feel as though not every event or emotion is an occasion to have some wine.

goodmorning
i am having a family crisis.....got a hold of my son's texts (unintentionally) and I have found out that he is HEAVILY into smoking pot and taking "pax"
WHAT IS PAX??????
Internet search shows it is an antidepressant. Why would he be taking something like that recreationally?I just won't anymore

Good Morning Everyone and HAPPY FRIDAY!!!!!
Day 15 for me...
Jenn - That sucks and I can totally relate. Luckily my kids are young adults now. How old is your son? As far as I know, Pax is an antidepressant but I'm not sure why he would be taking it recreationally. As far as I know, it has to be taken everyday to get in your system. Who knows what these kids are into these days. Hopefully someone that knows more will chime in.
Have a great AF Friday everyone....we are rolling. This will be my 3rd AF weekend!Miley

I understand. Maybe you should wait to approach him when you aren't as upset. It's going to be an important conversation. Ill lift you up in prayer.Miley

I asked her if she knew anything or had heard of PAX and apparently kids take it because it is supposed to block the neurotoxic effects of Ecstacy (not what you want to hear I know ) I found this link about it on the web: Erowid Experience Vaults: Paroxentine (Paxil) - Abusing Paxil: Attempted Fun - 19295
I have two sons (21 and 19) and my older son has admitted that he was heavily into smoking pot once (about 16 to 18) and that he had experimented with 'other' things. We've talked about it recently and for him (and many of his friends) it was a phase they all went through. I was totally unaware at the time - I naively thought he was 'just' smoking and consquently stopped all of his pocket money.
I do hope for your son this is also just an experimental phase which his will soon discover isn't all the fun it's cracked up to be. I hope you can find the best way to approach this - maybe call a drugs helpline and ask an expert how they would advise you to handle the situation. Thinking of you and and sending a big hug. :l Snap xNever put off to tomorrow what you can achieve today!

Dear Jenniech, I am sorry about your son. It must be hard to know what is the best approach in discussing this with him.
Congrats, Miley, on your progress.
Thanks, NS, for thoughts on my well being. Thought the guy in front of me had gone ahead with his merge, but he decided to wait, and then I started my merge, right into him. You are right, I am out of driving practice.
Best wishes to everyone for a joyous, AF weekend.Free at Last

Jenniech sorry about the crises with your son and like miley I think you should wait till you arn't upset in the mean time look up all the information you can get and have also the side effects etc so you can talk about it more calmly and hopefully your son will listen to you
good on you miley

Thanks everyone! Our house is surrounded by woods. This afternoon I went back there and looked around. Low and behold I found a stash of pot and a huge bong. I took it.
My son has no idea I did that but he has discovered his stuff is gone and he is very upset. I am not going to say anything just yet. I am still trying to sort it out. But I must say, I actually feel bad about it. Isn't that ridiculous??!!!???? I hate seeing my son upset. It is really an awful feeling......I am so confused and really feel I need some professional advice on how to approach him. I want him to know that I love him and only want what is best for him. I also want him to understand how serious this is but I don't want to alienate him to the point where he will rebel.....
Raising teenagers is tough business!!!
As for me, I really really wanted a drink but I have the strength to NOT pick up no matter what!! I can't even imagine how I would be able to handle this if I were drinking. I just wish these f'ing cravings would go away.I just won't anymore

Hi! all
I can relate to teenages and yes you do find out what they got up to 10yrs later it comes out when they are relaxed and remember when starts ( I'm glad i didn't know )
