        witching hour here....
I want a drink but then I think about what it would be like after I finish that drink....I would inevitably pour another....then another and so on and so forth.
And then I would not be able to deal with my children or my husband. I would pass out on the couch. I would wake up in the middle of the night disoriented and dizzy and would find my way to my bed. Then, I would wake up in another hour or so drenched in sweat and then I would toss and turn for a couple of hours. Then I would doze off again (finally) only to wake up with a hangover, irritable, unable to go to the gym and I would feel fat, bloated and disappointed in myself.

        Sound familiar?

Very familiar jenniech, thanks for reminding us once again why an AF life is a better one.

Welcome LostSoul 33, we are not far from the end of June! I find the monthly thread a great one as it gives a goal to attain, racking up those months is beginning to count towards a healthier, happier life. Wishing everone well!

Jenn....sounds very familiar to me! Thanks for the reminder....warm weather is tough.

Still hanging in there....Day 20 for me tomorrow, which is a miracle for me. I hope this weekend is easier than last one. It does seem to get easier as the days go by.

            We are rocking Juners!

dang it.....there is a fly buzzing around in my room!!!!! Better to have that kind of buzz than a buzz in my head.....I am feeling really good right now..... I am cozy in bed with my face washed and my teeth brushed....I am starting to actually enjoy the nights!!!! That is huge progress for me....next and final section of the day to actually enjoy will be the witching hour....I feel it is just around the corner
              Goodnight all!!

                Goodmorning!!!
I feel a shift happening.....I am feeling strong and really good. I have my power back now that I am AF to deal with life's problems on life's terms. That would NEVER happen if I were drinking.
The cravings are subsiding and I am kicking the poor me's to the curb.
Thanks for all of your support during my down period!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey, Jennie -- I think powerful is just the right word. It is great to regain self-confidence and a sense of control.

Although I don't think I'm particularly power-hungry, I have enjoyed the feeling of power when I am the member of a group who is not drinking. I like confidently ordering my AF beverage. I like not trying to mind my words and walk carefully. I like being the driver. And I really like not wanting to end the evening early so I can get home and sadly drink more.

I am enjoying having finally turned the tables on AL and being the one with the power who is large and in charge.

I am very saddened by the news that James Gandolfini has died. He was only 51 years old. Life is short friends.....let's live to our full potential AF...

Me too Jenn....such shocking news. He was so young!

WE....I have notice my cravings for AL diminishing significantly. I am of the mind-set to expect them when I least expect them! It is nice not to be obsessing over AL for a change!

Hoping to finish out June after a bad choice last week, back in the sadddle, again. Day 6 free of poison. Finally felt a bit better yesterday afternoon.

Finally feel like starting a "to do" list this morning. Can't find my little notebook...it's around here somewhere, 8 days of dust on it, but I know it's here.
