good for you Jenniech
I day left for june
Day 30 for me
Nosugar I have some on the go (ufo's) quilts .....I had some-one say to me that unless you have 30 on the go your not a serious quilter
dont have that many to finish but what I do have is too many to finish so hopefully now I'm af I'll be able to make a whole in it
I'm doing a crazy quilt with all sorts of embroidery stitches on the seams and lace
also has beads and mirrors on it at the moment putting buttons and crochet pieces ( flowers etc )
I hope to finish it this year I have made it a goal to stitch a batch of buttons a day ( or till my finger holds out from the needle .....must find a thimble
I got the idea from a site called stitchin fingers ......drop a button box ..... you should be able to google I dropped a button box
I also do Japanesse embroidery which I love
but sadly all these projects have been put on the back burner because I need a clear mind other wise I unpick more than stitch
Hubby going away next week so hoping I can make a big mess and clean out my sewing room ( which my husband says is in every room of the house .....probably true )
the quilt I'm working on has been on the pool table since June last year but with all the problems I have had I haven't done anything on it ......but now am slowly getting focused on working on them
I also have 2 new grandchildren and also had another born in dec last year I hope to do them an activities quilt with buttons zippers laces to tie etc
what type of quilting do you do I have also done trash and treasure quilt, appliqu?d quilts block ones of course ......sorry got carried away here

Thanks for telling us about your quilts, WittsEnd!
It sounds like you do a great deal of detailed hand work. It must be fun to collect the treasures you incorporate. The activity quilts sound fun - if I'm lucky enough to have grandchildren, I'll look into making those.
I do mostly machine piecing and quilting - altered geometric shapes and either really saturated colors or contrasting lights and darks. It is a great creative outlet (and quilts are generally well-received gifts ).
Good luck cleaning out that sewing room :H!

THIS IS IT!!!!!
The LAST day of June, 2013. I am so happy to still be here, happily sober and getting stronger every day. I am about to go on vacation later today. This will be my first vacation sober. There will be lots of opportunities to drink and lots of challenges but I am up for the task. It is no coincidence that last night I had a HORRIBLE drunk dream. I dreamed I was on vacation and took a bottle of my favorite chardonnay and drank the entire bottle without anyone knowing it. In my dream I was quite pleased with myself because I "got away with it" and know one knew. But then, being on vacation, my family began to video tape me. I was talking and realized that I was slurring my speech. Not only did everyone realize I was drunk, but the video had it recorded forever. It was really awful.
So, today I am driving to the seashore with that dream in the back of my head. It will certainly help any cravings that hit me!!!
Onward to July!!!! It is time to put this sober month of June to bedI just won't anymore
