Did a 45 minute yoga class before my coffee. Woot life is getting better there were days when absolutely nothing happened before coffee LOL

11 Days Sober - First Timer
Day 16 and the headaches are subsiding. I am not craving sugar as much. I still have incredibly vivid longings for rum and coke or wine or beer. It is easier to ignore them now. I truly believe that I can not moderate my drinking so I need to stop completely. If I allowed myself a glass of wine or a beer it would definitely lead to more. And then it would lead to every night again. So I don't want to drink. I don't want to drink. That's not what I said when I started this. Then I said I can't drink. Subtle but huge difference eh?Newbies Nest

Was just checking to see how you're doing 3June. Looks as if you're doing everything brilliantly. Getting involved and posting lots has been vital to my recovery. A :goodjob: to you.

I honesty thought you had to have about a million years sober or something like that, but a 1000 posts does the trick

11 Days Sober - First Timer
Just got in from a very busy night at work. Used to be I would sit and drink myself to sleep. Too wired to sleep until I passed out from drinking. Nowadays I get up earlier, keep busier and sleep better. I keep waiting for the crash. I feel so good pretty much all the time. I used to be way moodier. I chalked some of it up to menopause (my BFF says we're just bitches LOL) but the grumpy mornings had more to do with Al I think. Interesting how when you step away you can see things much more clearly.Newbies Nest

18 days AF I guarantee you this has not happened in let's say 30 years but likely longer because I honestly can't remember when. Thank you thank you thank you MWO and everyone here. I am not alone. You have shown me that through and through. I know there will be tough days ahead and I still fight the demon every day telling myself I don't drink, but it is getting easier and I am planning ahead. I feel great.Newbies Nest

Good morning, 3J!
You've had a really positive attitude about this and I think that makes all the difference. You've decided you're not going to drink, haven't minimized the difficulties but haven't felt sorry for yourself, have made friends here by asking questions and giving support, have checked in to MWO frequently, and have just moved forward a day at a time.
That is how MWO works .
