Sweating it out .... I'm quitting this insanity

Wow Sun Flower - I like to believe that God sends us exactly what we need at just the right moment ... never to soon, never to late. This may be one one of those moments. I'm going to find out when they meet and go. Thank you so much for the encouragement.

Day 2 wrapping up. I feel nourished today. (Kind of because I've been eating comfort food meals the past two days ... hehe). Tomorrow I need to get on my healthy eating plan. I know that helps protect my AF life.

Just want you all to know (Miley, Sun Flower, Mr. V, Pauly, and all on MWO- I appreciate your wisdom, journey & love through this site. I'm saying prayers of thanks and strength for you tonight. :l

Miley....mine is on Wednesday as well. This week I am going on Monday to another church because I want to hear a specific person's testimony. It'll be good to meet another group of like minded souls.

Wednesday though is the perfect day for me to hit the reset button for the week.

PM me after your meeting and let me know how it goes.

That sounds like a great program. I will check into it here. I am still dealing with issues it would be nice to share with someone.

                Day 4 - DONE!!

Back home after a fun get away with my DH!! We have been going opposite directions all summer. We really had fun, and I laughed more than I have in ages.

Miley & Sun Flower ... my meeting is next Thursday! I'm nervous because my community isn't that large. (I know a lot of people) and I am still suffering from a humility problem ... ; )
But I'm going to go. I know that ALONE will keep me on the road. I will report back!!

Thanks Nefer for the encouragement. It gives me GREAT HOPE that you are 3 years AF!! Esp. after many many trys! What made it stick?

Little Beagle ... Find a Celebrate Recovery and try it. We can all go to meetings together.... apart!!!

Rita....humilty can be your issue Doesn't everyone have that issue anyways?

It is great to have real fun with the people we love. Glad you and hubby had a good time.

I just got the workbooks this week. I actually enjoyed all the scripture in it....and the first exercise was painless.

Groups are not allowed to reccomend non-Celebrate Recovery material. But, people can

I went to Lifeway and got the Life Recovery Bible. Love it!

Someone suggested I pick up "Jesus Calling"...devotional. I still need to get it.

                  Keep me posted.

Sweating it out .... I'm quitting this insanity

                    Good Morning!

Rita - I am nervous also and now found out I have an appointment Wednesday that I forgot about. I am trying to reschedule because I really want to go to CR on Wednesday. I know what its like with the humility issue.....I am to the point now where I think I am getting over it and accepting myself for who I am. Part of who I am is an alcoholic, so it is what it is I guess.

Sunflower....I am going to check out the Life Recovery Bible and the Jesus calling devotianal. I am reading a book called God is for the Alcoholic. It is very interesting (although I am not that far along with it). It is written primarily for peoople that are living with an alcoholic but the insight is truly interesting.

This morning I was watching In Touch with Dr. Charles Stanley...not sure if you guys know who he is but he is awesome. Anyway, one of the things he said is that "Nothing can conquer you without your consent". I am going to keep saying this over and over again because it is true. Also, I know that without trials, testimony is impossible.

Hope you guys have a wonderful Sunday. I am heading out with my HB.....we are looking at houses all day. Kind of exciting. I'll check in later.

Miley....acceptance was the key for me. Denial was long gone. Accepting that it was never ever going to change....the golden key.

Let me know how the book is. Seeing it from that side is hard. One woman spoke about her issues and being married to an alcoholic for 20 years. Her husband was there....and she said that her marriage is now better than its ever been....thanks to CR.

Her speaking though gave me a lot of empathy for what my husband went through.

That quote is a keeper Miley! It is so simple ... So truthful . How did the house hunting go? I love houses .... Looking, decorating,, building .... You name it ... Addicted to them!!!

SunFlower I have the Jesus Calling book -a gift from a friend .... I have never opened it I'm embarrassed to say. She is a beautiful role model to me so I know it's great. Going to go dig it out and start reading the daily devotionals in the morning! Geesh - God is using you to bop me over the head with the obvious. Thank you!!

I'm getting less nervous about CR this week. I spent a lot of time on their web site. Pretty amazing. Everyone who knows me knows I'm a perfectionist so they could guess I'm there for a dozen things!! I feel sure ill be okay with whatever comes. God will go before me .... Praise Jesus!

As a new week unfolds .... Lets go through certain of this one thing ... Nothing so bad can happen that drinking won't just make worse!! :h

Rita....God knows how to create the ripple effect doesn't he. NOW I need make sure I buy it tomorrow!

Too much to just be a coincidence....I am learning how to pay attention to signs and listen to the cues from within. Life is so much easier that way. I used to over analyze every situation to death.

Sweating it out .... I'm quitting this insanity

I spent the whole day yesterday reading and studying about the nutritional aspect of recovery. Tue. Aug 6 marks day 7 for me - and I have spent the last 6 days eating a lot of anything I wanted. I know that doesn't work well for me, so as of today I am starting a very strict healthy eathing RX. I'm going to look at it like it is my DRUG - my medicine to get better, as I believe it makes all the difference in an easy time of it, or a difficult time of it.

So - Here I go. I'm ready. I feel stuffed, gross and fat. I want a new start with all aspects of my life. The quitting smoking could use the benefit of nutrition also.

                            So happy to be AF

Hey Guys.....Seems like everyone is doing well. I ordered the Jesus Calling Daily Devotionals and love it so much I ordered 4 to give to friends.

Rita - I am with you on the eating better idea. I got the MyFitnessPal app and have started tracking my calories daily and my excercise. I am curious to know what type of eating regime you will be following.

I was at work earlier so didn't get to answer Rita's question about house hunting.

It was a great day....the weather was amazing! We looked at neighborhoods we never would have and saw one house that we really liked. It had a beautiful pool! We are looking Again this weekend.
