Quite a day you had, Free. So many excuses to have a drink and you didn't use any of them! Instead, you used to the max all the tools that have enabled you to get this far. I'm so happy for you and proud of you. :l NS

On becoming joyfully AF
Free at Last I had no idea that you are on the go so much! I feel like my working shifts is nothing compared to what you endure! So happy for you that you're feeling so strong and that you're able to find ways to meditate even in a noisy airport!Newbies Nest

Thanks NS and 3J, no immediate end in sight for this road warrior. But, I have an arsenal for staying AF. Cutting out the sugar these past 6 days has been very helpful. Feeling good.Free at Last

Thanks, Wine-no. Been doing my gratitude meditation -- what about today am I grateful for at the end of each day and what about my life am I grateful for in the morning. Really starting to bring me joy. So happy to see you progress.Free at Last

Hi Free
I have been doing that too since you last suggested it. I find it a very positive thing to do... You realise how lucky you are instead of dwelling on things you want to improve in life!

Hey Free, this is a great thread, and this is what we are all looking for I suppose! I can't imagine a time when I won't be battling with this, and will feel truely free - but I desire it with all my heart. Thnks for your inspiration x

Dear Noodle, it takes some consecutive AF time. I don't think my mind starting shifting away from deprivation mode to gratitude I don't drink until somewhere around 40-45 days. Even then I had thoughts of moderation but the longer I go without AL, the more I realize how better my life is without it. Just keep racking up the days, eventually you will see a shift in your thinking.Free at Last

Close to midnight here, hanging out in another airport waiting for the ticket counter to open to check in for a 2am flight (yes, there are places in the world that still have flights leaving at 2am). Will land at 6am and transfer to another flight at 9am. Am so glad I am doing these flights joyfully sober. Can't imagine keeping up this pace if I were a consultant who drinks.
Three more days of this consulting gig and I am homeward bound. Bearing down on three months AF, and feeling it is becoming a way of life. And for that I am joyful.Free at Last

Have a good trip. I hope you get some rest. I used to travel a lot for business an remember how exhausted I was from the drinking... Lounge, flight etc. Just not worth it! xAF since Halloween 2016

Thanks, Mr. G. In airport #2 of this leg, waiting to board. Someone thought I had a glamourous life, jetsetting around. Yeah, right. Thanks for the good wishes.Free at Last

Thanks, Quakegirl. Back at by main consulting site. Two more days and I am homeward bound.
Happy to report that I haven't taken any antabuse in over 9 days. No temptations seemed so great that I couldn't surf the urge and break through. My personal goal was to be finished with the AB by 90 days, but to keep some on hand for really tough situations (mainly as a backup). Feeling good.Free at Last
