4 Months AL on Tuesday
I walked into my first AA meeting on 18th February this year. It was one of the scariest things I have ever done but by far the best. I was drinking two bottles of red wine a day and I don't know how I coped! AA is not for me but it did help and I have taken lots from it. I work on my weaknesses daily and I am so grateful for each day. My depression has lifted and I just feel so much better. The first three months were hard but nothing is as hard as drinking on a daily basis. I love this site and come on here weekly to read posts and it also helps me feel that I am not alone.PoppykinTags: None

poppy, sharing your story helps us all. I haven't tried a meeting, not really all that religious and those twelve steps seem to talk a lot about God. But being here has helped enormously. Reading about your journey reminds me of where I could be in three months. Congratulations!!Newbies Nest

That's brilliant! Well done you. Just day 2 for me. I too was drinking 2 bottles of wine a day, plus beer in the afternoon. I've decided for every day I stay off the booze, I'm going to put ?10 aside (roughly what I was spending on wine a day) & do something nice for myself with it.
