    One good thing:
Forgetting I'm sober sometimes - hesitating - and then remembering:
Yes I can drive you to the airport .......
Yes 'll be there at 8 am on the dot .....
Yes I'll be in work the Monday morning after my vacation
No I know nothing about the wine bottles in the wrong re-cycle bin :haha:

Less guilt. That's all for now. The rest will follow, I'm sure. QG day 4

        1. No guilt or shame with "what did I do last night", "did other people notice or had they left?" Not remembering if they left or not, so number 2 becomes:
        2. No more blackouts!
        3. No more bruises or injuries that appeared overnight (did I fall? I vaguely remember stumbling into something.
        4. No more hangovers.
        5. No more being a poor role model to my kids (do a pretty good job of hiding drinking from them but have made a fool of myself to both of them more than once). That thought reminds me of number 6.
        6. No more sneaking drinking. I have hidden the wine glass in the laundry basket when I go downstairs to iron (night time at least but still...!)
        7. No more waking up with shame, regret, remorse.
        8. No more embarrassing hubby or family.
        9. Being able to call or see friends as I hate talking to people when I have a hangover.
        10. No more living a lie, because sneaking drinks, lying about drinking, etc. is one big fat lie and I am All Done Drinking...Yes

One good thing about being sober for a good while is I do not wake up wondering if I got drunk the night before?
How cool is that! Haha! Love it!
(AF since 17 May 2014) 2 years 5 months sober

Good thing about being sober is...I know I am giving my body a chance to heal. I can't wait to be able to say I feel better for it...

I'm so happy to be able to sleep the night through, to wake up rested and so relieved/grateful/proud that for another sober day. For living life the way I want to be, taking responsibility for myself, dealing with the stuff.

There are some great lists here!
For me, the best thing about being AF (sorry for there are any repeats):
I am actually present! I am not in la la land thinking about my next drink or how I am going to get said drinks.
I am more productive. Everything is cleaner, more organized and gets done on time.
I have more time. To do the things I missed out on doing while drinking.
I am there for my family and partner and especially my wonderful furballs.
Although I still deal with a lot of anxiety when sober, I am better equipped with trying to deal with it in healthier ways instead of trying to blot it out. Which in the long term is better.
Oh and losing fifty pounds was a big one for me too. And sleeping better! And eating better.

                    Better sleep.
Not making a fool of myself.
                    Feeling happier in general.
Beginning to think about things in depth and make long-term plans.
Less bloated, losing weight, and my clothes fit much better.
Being able to drive any time, night or day, and know that I am available if anyone needs me.

I feel like a grown up now and have nothing to be embarrassed or ashamed about. I drank to feel more confident but I feel more confident without it!
