Welcome to MWO, Nancy and congratulations on already being on week 3!
Hope you post over in the Nest so other people can meet you, too - That is a pretty large and active thread and a great place to give and receive support.

Knock, knock? Is this the thread for menopausal closet drinkers?
I'm 53, and I had quite a 'thing' going in my closet! 3 weeks is awesome! The worst part is over and YOU did it...but now the work begins in a new way! I'm so glad you found us! Welcome aboard!
Can someone show me to the support stockings, and sensible shoe department? :H:H

Byrdie, I've only been home for 15 minutes and you've already made me laugh twice. "Menopausal closet drinkers!" LOL. And, the snoring poem was priceless. It's worth giving up AL just for that reason alone.
NoSugar - for me its hot flashes. OMG. Everyone at work will be complaining about how cold it is. They'll be putting on sweaters, and I'm blasting my fan. I just had to chime in on this one. It touched a nerve.
Nancy, obviously we are all in the same boat. Hang tough!

Sorry for the thread hijack, Nancy! You're probably wondering what in the heck is going on!
This really is a wonderful place for getting truly free of AL but a little goofing around sure makes the whole thing less painful (and sometimes even fun )

Hi nancy, hope you're having a good night. I just got home from work, are you off today? Good to hear your hubby will be home for a while, is he supportive of your AF goals? I've never been to a meeting but what have you got to lose, right? I think part of the reason I never went was I didn't think I was an alcoholic. Then I heard all that's required is a desire to stop drinking. Well that wasn't me either for a long time. Now I am not sure I need it, I have found so much support here, but if I ever felt I was starting to slip I might try it. I am not religious and they use a lot of references to God. I know you can substitute whoever you want for God but the whole premise of giving myself up to a higher power just doesn't do it for me. I want to be accountable and in control. Good to see you're making lots of friends here. Check out some of the other pages, you'll find a wealth of info there. Your GI troubles sound awful, I hope the Doc can help.Newbies Nest

Hi, June....hope you had a good day at work! Can I ask what you do? I am a Home Health RN. Yes, hubby is supportive, and I am having a good night-boys home, house calm. I have on medical leave since March 12. Hope to go back soon. Counselor says I need to take a little more time before I return to the stress. I really miss my patients, but keep in touch with them either by phone or FaceBook. I, like you, am not a church-goer. I do believe in God, and have faith-the medical field has taught me that so many unexpected things can happen-good and bad. I am really enjoying talking and meeting everyone here-so many have a great sense of humor also-that helps. I am finding that my wittiness is coming back, and also find myself smiling and laughing a lot more now!...THAT is ME! Have a great night! Talk again, soon. PS...That person running in your box by your name is simply wearing me out!LOL
