A man who's decided he can't do this alone
Thank you all so much for your responses!! I'm afraid I don't know who to confide in - all confidants will have negative repercussions. I just got health insurance, though I have to spend $7500 before they pay anything - I'd rather pay out of pocket and talk to a doctor anonymously, but I can't determine how to do that.
I need to know how you guys got started - I can't do more than 2 days. I am gainfully employed, yet plummeting down a rabbit hole. I'm beginning to fear ... ugh/.
I read the book "The Heart of Addiction" and it is definitely pertinent to me. The problem is therapy like that is very expensive, and I can't afford it - pus I don't even know how to find it!
I was on day 2 today for the ump-tenth time and simply felt - "I''m alone - if I go in late, I can work late tomorrow ..." But they recognize my performance decrease - in any case it is massively killing my career.
I've read so many of your histories - from post one to present - so much success.
I think antabuse might be my ticket, but I am afraid to talk to a Dr.
I suck.- I just keep on doing what I KNOW is bad and wrong for me. My whole life turned on its head when my wife divorced me because I needed t take a job 800 miles away - she didn't want to go and thus I started to drink too much. We have two kids I adore, but I rarely get to see them.

Hey MakeLifeBetter,
Just checking in with you to see how you are doing. Have you spoken with your doctor about antabuse? I can tell you it has helped me get through some very intense periods where I was exposed to alcohol on a daily basis. Keep posting on your progress -- we are here for you.Free at Last
