    Alcohol Free August

Yeah Skull on 19 days AF,...and thanks for the support.

Well, Labor Day weekend is upon us and then we start a September thread. What is everyone doing this weekend to stay AF?

We just had our boozy holiday weekend in the UK, but this weekend is a festival and music time for me. I'll be driving and got some non-booze compatible things lined up. Also accompanying friend no longer drinks very much, result of hanging out with me so we'll be on the water.
I used the Sinclair Method to beat my alcoholic drinking.

Drank within safe limits for almost 2 years

          Thanks Miley!

          Day 20 AF

As for what I'm doing to stay sober this weekend... Well, this weekend my gf and I are going out of town, through the following week, back home on the 9th. I was mulling over going off the antabuse soon so I could partake in alcohol while on vacation, but just sort of forgot to come to a decision or to stop taking them. Now, even if I did stop, I'd still have AB in my system so it's too late. So, I guess the AB is working how it should, and I'll just stay sober.

Glad you decided to not decide to stop the AB. You know it makes sense:goodjob:

This is my first full AF calendar month since, probably August 2010.

In fact I just realised that was my last full AF month, the same month as this one - but 3 years ago. Spooky.

I don't have any big plans this weekend.....the State fair is going on, so we may go to that.

Skull....good decision to stay sober. I went off the wagon when I went on vacation and I have had a hell of a time getting back on track. I can honestly tell you that it isn't worth it..

                Alcohol Free August

Hi all, just checking in to say I'm still AF and equally important, I've kept my sanity during an intense work week. Tomorrow is the end of the month and this will be the first time I have been AF for an entire calendar month in 22 years. Thanks to everyone for the encouragement on this thread.

Who is starting the Sept thread?

UKB, Miley... thanks for the encouraging comments, you're both quite correct! Glad that I'm not making the choice to backslide into drunkenness for my vacation. I'm sure it'll ultimately be more fun!

Great job Free on your sober intense work week

Last day of August... Day 23 AF for me.

                    Alcohol Free August

Last day of August. Had dinner with a work colleague this evening. Normally, we would down a bottle of wine, and then some. Tonight I watched her sip her drinks and felt no desire to join in. Happy to report August was AF for me.

Isn't that just the best lack of feeling ever??? Two of the people I dined with last evening ordered wine and had a discussion of its "subtle but delightful attributes" . I and the beer drinker at the table could not have been less interested, and my cute little green 250 mL San Pellegrino bottle was the most appealing thing on the table !

Congratulations on getting that first full calendar month AF behind you! :h NS
