    The Glamour of it all!!!

[QUOTE=Neddy Merrill;1539149]I agree with UKBlonde, Hadit. They get around the legislation so that it still looks appealing. If you don't drink whisky, our ads will tell you, then you are unintelligent and unlikely to be attractive. The strange thing is though, when I drink I suddenly become a buffoon that no one would look twice at except to say, "Thank f**k I'm not him!"
    Neddy you're cracking me up!:nutso:

I used to hate al ads. But it's really the human mind to blame for all the deception that goes on with advertising. Advertising agencies are paid big bucks to help sell products. They study what makes the human mind tick...and uses that in the ads they create. And it works.

I don't see fat people in McDonalds ads. I see happy healthy families. Car commercials use a sense of status and power. Or you are smart to buy this car because its so economical.

They basically use what people want, what people think they may be lacking...to sell products. I can't demonize alcohol companies for doing the same thing. They use emotions to sell us crap we don't need. And they use beautiful people to do it.

Alcohol is poison to the body. I don't care if you drink one every ten years. And if a group went out and advertised the truth about alcohol....society would backlash against them.

Alcohol companies certainly have a good game going....but it is society's love of the drug....that keeps it going. I see normal people get giddy talking about having a drink.

Smoking certainly has come along way. But I don't see that happening with alcohol. I think it's sad because someone can smoke an entire pack of cigarettes and still drive. You don't have to be an alcoholic to drive drunk and kill a family of four.
